"My best friend and I moved into this apartment together a bit ago and it was the perfect reprieve from our last place's boring location and terrible, yellow-beige walls. Though it's very small, the balcony and great floors make it all worth it. Plus, my favorite coffee shop is just downstairs. The best!

I write a lot of affirming, positive notes to myself next to my desk and it's all-around a good place to hang out. I can chat with my roommate or move over to the couch if I get antsy. This was the first apartment where I've had my own working space that wasn't the kitchen table or floor, so it's so nice to have a home to make some magic.

She was an artist and passed away a few years ago, so it's nice to have her presence out and about. I have one of her paintings, some polaroids, and posters I made for a school project where I photographed and archived her art supplies (by my desk).

"The large bra drawing I did on the living room wall is always a conversation starter too. It's impossible to ignore!

We left a lot of furniture at our old place, so we've slowly added pieces to the main room as time has gone on. We finally caved and got an IKEA couch, but were able to dress it up with inexpensive mid-century legs we found on Etsy. It's the first place we've had that actually feels put-together and homey. Which, in college, is a nice feeling!"
