We are happy to welcome our pal Kelly Moore Clark to the blog today to share her lovely home with us! "When we first bought our home almost 3 years ago, it was very very plain. Everything was basic and needed updating, which was really exciting to me! I would rather start with nothing and make it the way I want than move into a home someone else renovated.
When we began, there were about 8 different shades of wood throughout the house, cabinets, floors, ceiling, walls, it was pretty bad. We repainted every surface in the house except the wood floors. It was amazing how much more open, fresh and inviting the rooms became once we gave everything a coat of fresh paint and painted all the mismatched woods a beautiful white. Our home isn't very large, a modest 1800sq ft. It's just big enough that we don't feel crowded, but small enough that we are always close to each other. When it comes to my decorating style, I don't really know what I'd call it. I like modern, farmhouse, vintage and eclectic, and my house is a hodgepodge of all of these styles. Most of my walls are a fresh white or crisp grey color, and I throw pops of color in with art, furniture, rugs, etc. I love having a home that feels comfortable. I've worked hard to create a space that encourages my girls to be creative and have fun!" "I love our white painted brick on the fire place. Everyone told me not to do it and that I would regret it, but I don't! I do especially love my kitchen. The cabinets were not that nice when we moved in. I had the option to completely gut the kitchen and get new cabinets or try and paint the old ones. I had always wanted to paint cabinets a fun color, so this was the perfect opportunity. If I didn't like it, no big deal, I could rip them out later. Good news….I LOVE THEM!!! I painted the top cabinets a mustard color and the bottom avocado. It really made the space whimsical and fun to spend time in, which I do! Also, we made our own concrete countertops. This was such a fun project that me and my husband did together. They give the space a industrial feel, nothing too fancy. They were really inexpensive and are super durable. I blogged the project if you'd like to see!" "I have a huge painting on my dining room wall of a multicolored cow painted on an old door. I love that it has a rural, folk feel, but the cow is modern with hot pink and yellow accents. I think it represents me perfectly. I purchased this painting in the hills of the appalachian mountains years ago while photographing an out of town wedding. At the time, the asking price for the piece was way out of my budget, but I just couldn't get it out of my mind, so before I left to come home, I stopped by the little store and purchased it. It will always be special to me." "We have 3 little girls, so to say that our home is "lived in" is an understatement. We spend a lot of time at home! Our kitchen, living area, and dining area are all one big open space, so I love that whether I'm cooking, working on a project at the table or relaxing on the couch, we can all be together." Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us, Kelly. You can find more of Kelly over at her camera bag site or on Twitter or Facebook! xo.

Grey + Mustard… love it!
The bookself of the kid room is what i want for my son!
i love checking out the series, especially now that we’re moving next week! gives me so much great inspiration!
I love the vintage pieces and overall vintage style of this house. I love picking up knick knacks from my travels from antique shops. It adds so much character and detail to the home!

Such a beautiful home, I wish I lived there. I especially love how they’ve hung the pictures above the bed, it’s just a nice effect for the room 🙂
Oh, I absolutely love your style. My favorite piece has to be the lights over the girl’s beds. That is so lovely and cozy. And your kitchen is amazing!!
I love the bookshelf with all the story book covers displayed. It’s so homey and it adds so much color to the room. I also like that it can be changed by moving the books around, adding/removing story books and growing more mature as the girls do. How awesome!
I just discovered this blog yesterday and suffice to say I am in love.
I love Kelly’s house- I’ve been following her house projects for awhile and even used her tutorial to help make our very own concrete countertops!! 🙂
That little girl is soooo cute!!!

Such a comfy looking home. I love the cow painting and the cafe lights strung around. Very sweet.
I had to giggle when she said, “Our home isn’t very large, a modest 1800sq ft.” It looks big (considering I live in maybe 800 sq ft) but I’m sure it feels little with so many little people running around. 🙂
Its a lovely home ! I especially love the girls rooms

Out of all of the home tours you’ve shared on your blog, this one has to be my favorite. It’s the home I can see myself living in. For starters, I love the wooden floors, and the ‘modern, farmhouse, vintage and eclectic’ styles all together just work perfectly. I like the simple wall colors that allow the items around the home to pop with their pretty colors. Love this!

Great home!! So sweet and cozy. I absolutely love the US map. So cute!!
Are you kidding me a MODEST 1800 sq feet?! I hope she never visits the rest of the world. She may in for a rude awakening.
Beautiful home, love the gray walls. I’ve been searching for the perfect gray, not too blue/green/purple…any chance you can share your shade? 🙂
Hey Kari,
I think that standard really depends on where you live! Here in Missouri 1800 would be considered a smaller family size home also. Obviously it’s different in more expensive/populated areas of the country.

GORGEOUS home! I’m struggling to find the perfect shade of yellow for my kitchen. I would love to know the colors that were used on the cabinets!
I LOVE that cow painting – so fun!
Beautiful home! But 1800 sq ft is not small, in the rest of the world that is a big house!
Lovely!!!! Every new home that you showcase gets me feeling more and more inspired to work on my own!

I have a teeny kitchen in my 1000 ft house and I am inspired to make the most of the space and get my paint brushes out.
This is one of my fave home features…love the decor and combo of farmhouse + modern + vintage – very nice balance.

I love, love, LOVE this space! I am especially inspired by the large photos in the kitchen, lighting choices and the U.S. map above the fireplace.
I have trouble deciding what to put on top of my cabinets in my kitchen, so regarding the photos in the kitchen, I might use that idea.
Can’t wait to check out and learn more about you and your home via your blog.

Any idea where to find the globe lights as in her girls’ room with the white cord. The only ones I can manage to find are more backyard ones with green cords.

The kids bookshelves are my favorite thing, other than the cabinet colors (and the cow).. I saw shelves like that on Pinterest a while back and have loved them ever since. Maybe we need to use the idea ourselves!

Une maison pleine d’amour et de fraîcheurs ! Bravo !
J’aurais toutefois une question aux propriétaires épatants, quel nom porte le fauteuil vert près de la cheminée ? J’adore !
I love this grey!!! It’s pewter cast from Sherwin Williams.
Devon- I got the gumball lamps from thelandofnod.com
Aurelie- I got the rocking chair from:

I think this is my favourite yet!! Love the details. That kitchen is a creative space all on its own. Perfect.
So cool, love the colors!!! I’m a huge friend of that Citron color!!!!
I like the fireplace the most 🙂
It’s hard to combine vintage with fresh, colourful and modern without something looking out of place but this house is perfect!
i absolutely love the kids’ library!!!
I love all the gray and yellow. That’s a color combo I attempted when I moved in to my first place, but I could never quite find the right pieces. Now I’m inspired to try it again!

Is there any chance to find out how the U.S. map was made or where they got it? I’m looking to make a chalkboard with U.S. map stenciled out and this looks exactly like what I want to do!
