Hi friends! Trey took me to Austin City Limits this past weekend. We had a blast! I love the whole music festival atmosphere but hadn't had been to one since high school. Too long. Favorite band we saw definitely had to be Vampire Weekend. They just nailed it, and their bassist has the most adorable dance moves. If you haven't seen them, YouTube it and swoon. Also, is it just me or did festival food get WAY better? I feel like it all used to be medium-low carnival food, but ACL had quite the selection. I don't know, maybe it's just Austin, or maybe festivals are stepping up their game. Either way, those kimchi fries were AMAZING! Here are a few snap shots from our little weekend vacation. i go to bonnaroo every year and their food is also amazing, surprisingly so. you should go to that festival if you are into that sort of thing. it is a lot of fun! 🙂

Looks like this was a wonderful trip and really different to our trip on the weekend to one of the King Ludwigs II castles named “Linderhof” in Bavaria in Germany 🙂

I saw Vampire Weekend at Osheaga in August and they were great! Some bands can’t do live shows, but Vampire Weekend made me fall in love even more than before. Don’t even get me started on festival food… I could eat my body weight in food at music events.
Please tell me you tried the “Good Pops” vendor! Hibiscus mint Popsicle never tasted so good.
On a side note, yes ACL food vendors nail it every time. I’ve never been disappointed… and I’m a vegetarian! I’m going weekend two, so thanks for the heads up on Vampire Weekend.

Go to Lollapalooza next year. They had most of the same bands as ACL and impressive food! I saw Vampire Weekend at Lolla this year. The best part is seeing such great music with the Chicago skyline as the backdrop!
So many bands I love!!!! Smith Westerns, oh my. A friend of mine goes every year, so I got many snapchats of our favourite band, Arctic Monkeys. Nice to see you had fun as well!
So awesome to here you made it to my AMAZING state!!!! Austin is the live music capital, and such a fun city!!!! I live about 30min away in San Antonio, home of the Alamo… Everyone should visit Texas, it’s a blast!! I hope you had enough time to see some of Austin, and eat some yummy Tex-Mex!!!! Y’all come back again really soon!!!!
I’m such a great fan of Vampire Weekend, I’ve seen them in Paris some years ago, and i couldn’t agree more that they are amazing on stage!

You and Trey made your way through our “camp” a couple times (on 2 different days) and I kept thinking…why do I know her and where do I know her from? Well, glad you came back to our cool city and had a great time! My boyfriend and I live directly off of the park, so we’re heading there again this weekend!

I went solo to the Vampire weekend concert, yet I have to agree that it was all time my favorite of the weekend! Seriously, could Ezra be any more adorable?
Mmmmm! You must have ordered from Chi’Lantro! One of THE BEST food trucks in Austin. ACL always has amazing food options for renowned chefs and restaurants around town.
I’ve never been to ACL but I’ve done SXSW a few times and Free Press Summer Fest here in Houston twice and I agree that the food has gotten much better over the years! Glad you and Trey got to go and had a good time.
Austin is my favorite Texas city!!! Also music festivals are a BLAST and the food ROCKS! We had kimchi pork tacos at Bonnaroo! Those tacos also had mac & cheese worked in there somehow… weirdest mixture but sooooo yummy in my tummy!
I hope you didn’t leave Austin City Limits without eating at Mighty Cone 🙂 I’m headed there are Thursday for weekend 2 of the fest, definitely one of my fave things about visiting home <3
I’m surprised you liked the Vampire Weekend show, I saw them in a festival in France this summer, and I really was disappointed! I had great expectaions for I love this band but they just came, played their music and went, no talks with the public, almost no dance, not even “thank you”, and no reallive spin on their songs. Maybe they were tired this evening, but really I was so upset!

I went this past weekend too! Vampire Weekend was definitely one of the best acts of the weekend…though I loved Walk the Moon too! They had such great energy. And their bassist was absolutely adorable as well!

I loove music festivals! We go to this one called the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield Kansas. It is all bluegrassy and the best.
