Today my cute pal Elizabeth of Delightfully Tacky pulled up in her cute Winnebago to visit Red Velvet! She got to play dress up in our shop and I showed her a few of my favorite spots in town (by the way, I want to make a map of favorite Springfield spots for visiting blog pals… what kind of spots should i include?) For your favorite Springfield spots, you should include Thai Peppers for the yummiest Thai in MO, Mama Jean’s for healthy eats, Mud Lounge for drinky times, The Moxie for a unique movie experience, and perhaps some of the neat-o flea markets we have in town? Well, it’s your map, but those are some of the spots I would include if it were meee! ^_^
vintage shops, restaurants (vegan, veg and omni), ice cream shops, bars, cafes, places of interest, hidden gems, you know…all the fun stuff! I like to eat some place special where ever i visit. Food is normally the thing i remember most about a new place.

I live in Portland, OR and was just in Springfield visiting a friend (who works at the awesome Coffee Ethic!!) and I have to say that Askinosie chocolate should be on that list…it was fantastic. There was also some great thrift stores (everything was so much cheaper than in Portland… I was in heaven!) The only bad thing about my Springfield vacation was that your shop didn’t open until the day after I left… 🙁 but there’s always next time!

Oh, I would recommend Gailey’s cafe for breakfast – I love their sweet potato hash browns with brown sugar! Also, I can never go to Springfield without stopping by Andy’s Custard! I also love Haruno for sushi! Those are a few of my favs!
