Casual Friday Vol. 4

11111Hey, guys. It's that time again—Casual Friday time! This week was pretty killer. It had its ups and downs, though.

One of the real big high points was when we got a giant box of ice cream on our porch from Kelly Moore. What a sweet lady! We dug right in and had a sample fest. Jeni's is our favorite ice cream in the world. My favorite flavor is still Brown Butter Almond Brittle, but there's really not a bad one. 6We've mentioned that we're working on a renovation project for this big shed that's in our backyard. It's going to become a workshop for larger projects soon. This week the cement was laid and we got to leave our mark! 7888That was fun.

1111111111We've been working hard at a new e-course this week: Blog Love 2.0. Pile that on top of our usual project list and it's been a little crazy. It's okay, though. We're crazy passionate (yes, crazy passionate) about this e-course. The other night Jeremy and I went out for coffee, and I was reading him one of Trey's monetizing sessions aloud, and he was really into it. Real life story there.

In other news, Josh and Sarah found their dream house this week (and their offer was accepted), so we're gonna celebrate a little bit tonight! This house is incredible. I hope they'll be willing to share some before/after photos here, because it's going to be inspiring!

Congratulations, Josh and Sarah!!! 161616161616Hanging out at Kingdom Coffee for a break today (while our site was down this morning—insert frowny faces and temple rubs here). They've got a good vibe going on in there. Crazy good treats too. Also, please note Trey's Ramen socks. 21Trey made me this A-MAZING "not my chair, not my problem" tank top. It was the greatest gift ever. He had to order a minimum of six from the website where he made the shirt, so everybody got one. And we planned to wear them all to work today. It's my new favorite earthly possession. The End. xo. Elsie

  • Y’all, the “not my chair, not my problem” shirts made me crack up. I used to watch that YouTube video constantly. I want one!! Great post, as always!! Happy Friday, ABM:)

  • We love Jeni’s! We live in the UK but lucky for us we have friends who live in Columbus OH. Every time we go out to Cbus we fly it home to England in a freezer bag with dry ice. It goes through customs (we checked first!) and we have a fully stocked freezer for when only Jeni’s will do!

  • Jeni’s is my LIFE. Like seriously. I used to live in Cleveland and their ice cream is the one thing the south is missing right now.

  • I kept hitting refresh on my computer this morning! Friday at 10 am is my a beautiful mess fix! Glad you guys are back up and running. Wonderful post as always!

  • Jen’s Ice Cream is super good! I’m a weirdo vegan now but I still remember how delicious that stuff is.

  • I was sooooo frustrated when Typepad went down for half the day as I had an entire day of blog post planning today. But, oh well! I was able to get an AWESOME work-out in this morning instead! Still loving every bit of these “Casual Friday” posts!

    xoxo

  • I love you guys! Your blog always brightens my day. I was wondering, do you have any suggestions on good places to buy office/desk items? I am redoing my home office and I need some more places to shop!

  • You should make and sell those. That video is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever seen!

Love this new feature, too. It’s super fun and engaging!

  • OMG You have to have Trey make more so I can buy them! My husband would flip! 🙂

  • Never had Jeni’s, but have been dying to try it for years! Looks and sounds delicious! Loving these posts so much!

  • I am really digging this casual Fridays thread. It looks like you all have such an amazing time working together!

  • I live in Columbus, OH so I always get so happy when I see ABM mentioning Jeni’s! <3 🙂 Also, I love your casual friday posts in general. Yay! Have a good weekend, y'all! 🙂

  • wow that ice cream looks amazing and the ship it to you 🙂
might have to try! looks like you guys are still having a good time 🙂

  • I’m so excited that you’ve featured Jeni’s! I’m a Nashvillian born and raised and nothing makes me happier than seeing my town on your (delightful, wonderful) blog. I’m a Yazoo Sue and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries fan myself. (I have to thank you for my new addiction to The Pinewood Social as well)! Keep up the good work!

  • Love Jeni’s! I just found out that Whole Foods carries a few flavors. Yippy! Have a great weekend

  • So excited to hear that you have a Blog Love 2.0 in progress, because I absolutely love 1.0. Those renovations look epic and I always like checking back to see what new project is in the works. Both for the blog & studio…

And I always heart good ice-cream!

  • Thanks for the fun post! 🙂 Just wondering, do you know where they bought those copper mugs shown in one of the photos for Kingdom Coffee and Cycles? That mug is so beautiful I would love to buy it for my home!.

  • As allows, I leave reading your site with a SMILE;) I love that you are sharing both the ups and downs of your business. I hope to one day shape my own business, but until then I’m teaching and crafting away on my tiny Oahu island home, which is feeling a LOT more like home after adding some A Beautiful Mess art inspiration!

  • Hahah oh my gosh, those shirts!! Love it. And I have to say, any day that begins with a box of ice cream being delivered to your door step sounds like it’s going to be a good day 😉

  • I love all the projects you guys do and I think it is amazing the team you have and how you are all friends! I’m a bit envious of that as my friends aren’t into blogging. I also think it’s great that you also take time off and share those outings on your blog:) Oh and hope to see the house photos – house renovations are so inspiring!

  • customink.com. The easiest site to use ever. Seriously took me 15 minutes.

  • Hello Elsie! Do you know where Trey got his awesome socks? I have been trying to find some fun socks for my brother’s birthday. <3

  • Oooh jenis! I’m always so blown away when I see people somewhere besides columbus enjoying it! A bunch of my friends worked at the north market when we were teenagers way before it took off like a rocket…. I seriously went every day for free ice cream. Makes me proud (is that weird?) for us!
