I love all the spicy warm flavors that come with fall baked goods and drinks. So many delicious treats are floating around during the holiday seasons, but don’t forget that you can use a lot of those same flavors and scents to make sugar scrubs for gifts (or your own use) as well! I love a good cinnamon roll, so I thought I’d make a fall cinnamon sugar scrub with a hint of clove and brown sugar added in.Cinnamon Spice Sugar Scrub, makes 1 cup
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
6 drops cinnamon leaf essential oil (make sure your oil is cinnamon leaf rather than cinnamon bark for use on the body)
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Glass jar for storageAdd your brown and white sugar together into a glass mixing bowl and stir to combine. Mix in your ground cloves as well.Melt your coconut oil and drop in your cinnamon essential oil. Stir to combine.Add your oil to the sugar and mix together. Scoop into a glass jar for gifting or storage. Once it all hits the hot water in the shower (and even just in the jar before), the cinnamon goes so well with the brown sugar and the hint of cloves—smells delicious! My fave way to use a sugar scrub is to exfoliate my legs before shaving and I get a closer shave and softer legs after my shower. This sugar scrub should keep for several weeks and it’s best to keep them on your counter (like in that adorable pink tray) rather than in the shower if you can to keep it away from excess moisture. This scrub is a great way to start your day, makes a great homemade gift, and will have you in the fall spice mood all season long! xo. Laura

The smell of a cinnamon scrub sounds heavenly in the fall weather right now. It’ll get me in the mood for Christmas, too!

I’m with ya, I like to exfoliate before and after shaving! My little tip for sugar scrubs would be to not melt your coconut oil- I think it makes the scrub fluffier and I notice less oil separation and crusty dry sugar! 🙂
Interesting! I’ll try that next time!

Wow, I bet it smells divine! I’ve recently decided to cut way back on my sugar intake- what a great way to repurpose it hahah
ooooo divine! cloves are also really effective at alleviating any early morning facial puff caused by allergy etc – most def. gets the circulation going so be sure to massage around the sinuses.
Totally making this for my sister’s for Christmas! Thanks for sharing 🙂
