Decorating is my absolute favorite part of any party! I LOVE preparing a color scheme and party set up… down to every little detail. This year we made these fun wreaths with real cranberries. I love festive handmade wreaths and taking the time to make something crafty really put us in the holiday spirit.
They’re really pretty and they last for days (we made ours about three days before the party and it looked totally fresh).
This year we collaborated with the Cranberry Marketing Committee, an organization that advocates for cranberry farmers across America! How amazing is that? Read more about them here. Super excited we got to work with them this Friendsgiving! They’re also hosting a Cranberry Friendsgiving Photo Contest with us. More details on that below.
Supplies:
-raw cranberries
-hot glue gun
-Styrofoam wreath
-red fabric
-wreath hanger
-ribbon
1.) Cut your red fabric into 3″ wide strips. 2.) Wrap the fabric all the way around the Styrofoam wreath until the wreath is covered (the red fabric underneath will camouflage any spaces between the cranberries). 3.) Use the hot glue gun to attach cranberries to the fabric (as close together as you can!) until the entire top is covered. 4.) Fill in the inside and outside edges of the wreath as well until all the sides are covered. You may want to turn the wreath upside down for this part—it’s easier to get to the sides that way. Glue the ribbon to your wreath hanger, add a bow, and you’re ready to hang your cranberry creation!
I hope you have fun putting these together! If you make one, be sure to share them on Instagram using #ABMcrafty. We love seeing what you create!

It looks terribly pretty, but I’m wondering if there isn’t a way to do this and still be able to eat the cranberries? Maybe with toothpicks? And at the end of the party you just slice the wreath and each guest takes a slice home?
It’s just that I hate wasting food, plus cranberries, if I manage to find any fresh ones, are horribly expensive in France…
This looks so pretty! Love it. http://www.hannamarielei.com
This looks amazing! I wonder how long the cranberries will last, although they’re almost too delicious to use just as decoration!

How long do you think the wreath would last before the cranberries spoiled?
hhahaha I love the 1st post 🙂 This is a very good idea for Christmas!! and Lisa, you can maybe buy fake cheaper ones, and eat the real berries!

Bests! xxx
Totally! It would just be much more time consuming, but that could work!
They’re very easy to find here, but I can understand if they weren’t. :))

Looking perfect, maybe 3 days. But I’ve had it up about two weeks now (it’s still up in my dining room- haha) and it still looks good, but there are a few brown ones if you look REAL close.

It could totally be done with fake berries! I haven’t sourced them, but there’s always a way. :))

What an interesting and unusual idea to make a festive wreath, it’s very modern but immediately puts in the mood for Christmas, well done !

These cranberry wreaths are so gorgeous, and they look so yummy too. I might try what another commenter suggested above, and make my own with toothpicks so that I can eat the cranberries afterwards. haha! Thanks for sharing!

LOVE this! Looks so delicious and glossy, I’d have to remember not to eat them. I love the gradient of reds! x

Maybe a circular bundt style cake decorated with cranberries all over to get the same look in a delicious dessert. All you’d need to do is use small dabs of icing – a red base so it doesn’t show through any gaps, and stick them onto your cake once you’ve iced it.
It’s so nice! Impressed. You Have a great talent girl!
They look so festive and nice!!

OMG! Thats the most amazing wreath of all times!
I’m in love with it!
I need one for my door!!!
I liked the idea of using toothpicks, because I love cranberries and they are also very expensive here in Brazil!
Anyway I NEED TO TRY. Thanks for the inspiration!

Now I’m thinking. Maybe I could make one using walnuts too.
Of course the cranberries are much prettier. But walnuts can give it a rustic air. Maybe golden walnuts. Hmmmm. More ideas popping up!
And it may last longer. 🙂
xo girls! 🙂

These are so fun yet minimal looking!
Such a cute idea! How long does this wreath last? I’d love to have it for Thanksgiving but I don’t want it to be looking bad by the time the actual day comes!
I love how clean and crisp these look! Would never think of something like this. Beautiful.

Cute! So much better than paying $30-40 for a cranberry wreath at the store.

Your wreaths are gorgeous! It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without cranberries.
Do you think if you modge podged the cranberries they would last longer?
If frosting were used, the wreath could be put out for the birds and other small creatures this fall and winter.
This wreath is beautiful! Love that you used cranberries!

Has anyone tried spraying or coating something like this with shellac, polyurethane or other protective coating to make it last longer? Any opinion on whether that would work or not? I’m pretty enamored with this wreath, but want it to last longer as the creation of it looks time consuming.
