My husband and I like to drive around and look at everyones lights all lit up at night. And sit in our dark living room with nothing but the light from the Christmas tree while sipping on hot chocolate with marshmallow fluff on top and snuggling under a blanket. =)

Eeep! something happened to my comment. “I wore the same color tights just the other day but you cant see their cool texture in the photos”…so worth reposting it right π
I love that top!
As for traditions—having advent calendar/gifts, then you get to open a little something each day in December leading up to Christmas!
love it. πhttp://lovesimplegreen.blogspot.com/

I have a pair of yellow tights too! But when I wear them I feel like a Simpsons character
What a great photo shoot! I love the back drop. In fact, I think all of your style shoot locations are adorable! How do you find such great places to shoot?

Love the way you wear colors, so fun, and inspiring. I make notes to copy your color combos quite often.
Christmas is our favorite time of year. We have lots of decorating and baking traditions but the one I’m most excited about this year is our advent calendar. We were blessed with two new nieces and had a lot of fun creating versions of our advent calendar for them and their families.
Elsie,
I seriously can’t get over how many dresses we have in common! I have had this on my Ruche wishlist for about a month, I finally purchased it two days ago so it’s in the mail now!
AND I did a post today with the words “It’s December 1st” in the title!! Lol, glad we’re feeling so stoked about the “most wonderful time of the year” month.
P.s. I received my Red Velvet bow ties in the mail today & my hubby’s RV tie! Thanks!
December came so quickly! I love that you’re wearing such lovely bright colors during the winter months. I love the tradition of bundling up and picking out a tree. Drinking hot apple cider and decorating the tree are such wonderful memories to make. Hope your holidays are filled with fun.
XOXO
Yay, bows! In my opinion, bows are for every day. Cute outfit!

This is my & my fiance’s (wedding in April!) second Christmas together. This year I put together an activities advent calendar for us. I plan on making it a yearly tradition π
On the evening of the tree-lighting in our town, my son and I bake (vegan) eggnog muffins and walk over munching on warm muffins to watch the lighting. Then we putter around the small indie shops. On Santa Lucia Day, we invite friends over to make gingerbread cookies and decorate with stars and candles. On Solstice, we eat a dinner of dark foods and enjoy it by candlelight. For Christmas Eve lunch, we eat pizza. Yay!
My parents always DIY a fake christmas tree out of coat hangers, felt stuffed with plastic bags, bubble wrap, etc. It’s something different each year.
I always make gingerbread men and tape paper snowflakes to the windows. I also usually make a Christmas mix of songs that aren’t appallingly cheesy. I have about 4 or 5 of them now.
The tree will go up tonight after my son falls asleep, he will wake to it glowing tomorrow morning.
My husband will fall asleep from a long day of decorating and I will cuddle up on the couch with the tree glowing in the night.
I love this time of year, the plus is that it is supposed to snow tonight π
Love the outfit!
I love decorating the tree and house during the holidays! It always makes me so happy!
Also, I stumbled upon your blog a month ago and always get excited when a new post appears on my Google reader! I love it!

Beautiful post, as always π
My favorite tradition is the evening of dec 23, about 70-80% of the people who live around ReykjavΓk (Iceland’s capital) go to the shopping street downtown to do their last minute shopping. All of the stores are open till 11 and there are so many people to run into, my husband and i always save at least 1 present to shop on this day. When we go downtown we hope to run into people that we may not have seen all year or even for years, great aunts, old friends from elementary school, coworkers or even neighbors. If we run into people that we haven’t seen for a long time we might drop into a small cafe for a cup of hot chocolate to catch up. This is truly a magical night π
On the morning of the 24 (Icelanders celebrate christmas on the 24th) we visit friends and family to drop off presents, starting with our grandparents we stop and drink a cup of coffee, place our presents under the tree and wish a happy christmas to everyone… usually by 2 we’ve stopped by around 8-10 homes and had a little christmas quality time with every family. Then it’s time to go home and start the christmas dinner which is put on the table at 6 all over the country, every church rings their bells at 6 o’clock and even the national radio broadcasts the bells ringing in christmas. After noon on christmas eve is a national holiday, so everyone has the chance to celebrate with their families. We eat, open presents and cozy up on the couch to open all the christmas cards we’ve recieved in december. π
me and my boyfriend we have a lot of christmas traditions – we decorate the whole flat, bake cookies, make an advent wreath, listen to christmas songs, drink a lot of hot wine and give us presents for every day of december. for me it’s the world’s best month ever.
We have a specific decorative box that we put the movie, White Christmas in…a big Hershey’s bar…and gourmet popcorn. Then we wait until the first snowfall and break it all out together to usher in the season – curled up on the couch together with a fire in the fireplace. Each year I write the date of the first snow on the inside of the box. Good, good memories that you have to wait for to enjoy. <3
elsie.. you are just too darn cute. this blog is a blast to follow π xx
<3 I have the same shoes

Our family started a tradition of hosting a boxing day party at my parents for all our family and friends. We don’t always have it on boxing day anymore as it depends on how the holidays fall but “Sprague Family Christmas”, as we call it, is something that not only we look forward to but those who attend year after year as well!!
Our family loves to watch the 25 days of Christmas, cut down our own tree and decorate it to Christmas music, and read one short Christmas story per night in December (from a book I’m published in!!) I wouldn’t be able to live without a candlelight service on Christmas Eve either. I think we’re going to start some new traditions, like using Christmas lights as night lights for our son and choosing a new Christmas CD each year.
By the way Elsie, we’d love to hear about your traditions! You talk about traditions a lot, which is soooo sweet, but what are yours?
One of my favorite holiday activities is baking cookies. I drew a comic about my holiday memory. Will you bake cookies this year?

Very cute outfit!
Funny, I also wrote about red bows December 1. so I guess that day actually was for red bows π
i am obsessed with those shoes now, they are so beautiful!
the blouse is perfect and so are the skirt and tights too
Cute outift! Love the buns & color combo.
I love how colourful this outfit is…it definitely helps make a dark, rainy day better! π And I absolutely love your hair too, it is such a pretty hairstyle, I’m going to have to try it myself soon.
I most definitely wore mustard coloured tights on dec 1st. You can see here http://dorrisdoes.blogspot.com. I think it’s a December thing. There is something about cold weather that makes me want to put on colourful clothes x
Rad color combo!
All my traditions have changed in the last few years now that we travel to TX for Christmas with his family every year. So…
Favorite old tradition: Opening presents on Christmas eve by candlelight after a laughter-filled family feast.
Favorite new tradition: Every year in TX with Mark’s family, we take a family portrait photo in front of the tree. It’s really fun to look through these annual pictures and watch the family grow as new little ones are born.
Ah you pulled off the yellow tights so well! Hard thing to do! Christmas traditions are the best!
you are so adorable!!
