Happy Sunday! As promised, I'm back to share my progress on my December Daily book. This week was busy, but I still feel like I took more photos than I would have because of this project! I enjoyed thinking ahead about how I would use the photos I was collecting each day.
First of all, a few thoughts on printing at home. I printed all of my photos from home this week using my Canon PRO-100. I've been getting a lot of e-mails asking which printer is my favorite for scrapbooking. This is it. For bulk printing (like if I wanted to print 50+ 4×6 photos) I would order them online and have them shipped to my house, but for odd sizes like what I'm doing here home printing is the best and easiest solution. I love that I only had to use two pieces of 13×19 inch paper to print all my photos from the week. :)
I resized most of my photos to 3×4 inches, and printed a couple larger photos as well. After printing, I cut them all out and used a corner rounder tool to trim each corner.
This week I only had one photo that wasn't from my iPhone and it came from this blog post. This is a just-for-fun page. I like how big photos change the pace of the album and I hope to have more pages like this next week.
I shared day one last week, so this week starts with day two. Both of these photos were taken with my iPhone. We had our first big snow this week. This photo of our home was captured on the night the snow started to fall. The next morning we woke up with about seven inches! It's kinda rare for us to get a big snow in Missouri in December, so it was extra special.
Days 5 and 6. If you follow me on Instagram you may notice that some of the photos from this week are out of order. Disclaimer- I don't care about stuff like that. π
And Day 7. I spent the day cleaning and decompressing after a pretty intense week.
Progress! Week one was fun. It was pretty busy, though, so I don't feel like I got enough good photos and I definitely could do better in the storytelling department as well. My goal for this coming week is to take a couple photos every day with my SLR to mix in with my iPhone photos at the end of the week. Also- I need to take more photos of people (even though our dogs are really cute!) Anyone else have some progress to share for #DecemberDaily this week? xo. Elsie

Your December daily scrapbook is beautiful. The design is simple so it focuses on the photographs. I’d love to take part in the December daily but I’ve just gotten rid of my fear of project life, so maybe next year.
What a lovely way to keep your memories! Love it

I started to take one photo each day and upload it to Instagram (hippiekeks) using your app to make the photos prettier! It’s great to see your project, it’s so inspiring! Thank you!
Love what you have for your December Daily album already! I especially love the snow photos (since I’m from AR, we’ve been experiencing a lot of the same snow and it really has been extra special!). Oh, and another favorite is the card with the word ‘festive.’ I use the word ‘festive’ year around. It just has such a bright and happy connotation!
I really love the idea and the concept of this project! It’s inspiring! π
Simply beautiful and such a precious piece of art of your memories!
Your photos are so beautiful, Elsie. No one would ever know they were taken with an iPhone! The quality and composition is fantastic. I’ve been struggling with getting good lighting in my photos for, like, ever. I don’t think I’ve ever lived anywhere with a lot of natural light so I’m constantly turning lamps on and off. Sigh, someday!
I love that picture of the bottle brush trees. This is so fun and inspiring. I’m trying to figure out how to put my own twist on a project like this.
I want one of these!

Do you write on the photos with a pen after printing or do you do it in Photoshop or something like that?
This is such a beautiful idea, I might do this during some months next year. Your photos are stunning :3

such a fantastic idea to share more photos.
That’s a beautiful album! I really want to do something like this, but I always postponing…haha But this year I will start! Yey! :*
I would love to know where you order photos from online. I’m not happy with the quality for my local photo store and would love really long-lasting quality for framing. Would love to hear your suggestions…
Such a gorgeous and unique scrapbook (ish?) idea. Love it!
I’ve always been convinced your instagram photos are taken with your fancy camera and then upload, but now learning that they are with your iPhone I am impressed! You are so good at capturing beautiful moments π
LOVE!!!!!
I love this! It’s so cute! I really like those gold letters that you have. Where did you find them at?

you girls are so creative!
I’ve been trying to think of a way to print odd sized photos for ages and never thought to use my printer…durr…Guess I’ll have to go buy printer paper next time I hit the craft store.
Love your DD Elsie, thank you for sharing it!
I have my pages prepped and just making sure I have something for each day, whether it is journaling, photos or memorabilia. I love how you can use the photo protectors as pockets to hold stuff while you are in the planning stages.
Since I started journaling heavily in July of this year, I started an album I’m calling ‘Daily Daily’ because I fashioned it after December Daily, so for me, December is just another month in what is becoming a pretty hefty album. The journaling goes into the 8×8 protectors and then that dictates where the photos and memorabilia go.
For December journaling though, Ali Edwards is my inspiration for going deeper into the spirit of the season and what it means on a personal level. Check her out!
Can’t wait to see your DD next Sunday Elsie!
The way to keep the memories is creative ! & I love your photos ! It’s beautiful ! :3
Nice thank you
I usually am not a fan of scrapbooks, but yours is so lovely π I like the idea of resizing photos, especially with iPhone photos – where did you find the little clear pages to hold your photos?
Thanks!

Love, love, love! I will have to do this with my photos from my recent trip to South America.
I love your Christmas album Elsie! It has inspired me to to have a go too and I haven’t done any scrapbooking for years! Beverley from Brighton, England x
brilliant!
This is so beautiful really. Am wondering where do you get your photo pocket pages?
I’m so excited you’re participating this year, and I love what you got so far! ? What size is that photo of your house?
Can someone give me information on the album that is being used? It’s just what I’m looking for! π Thank you!
This is my 6th year of doing a December Daily album. It’s one of my favourite projects of the whole year…

I just love your album Elsie!!! Great inspiration. I’m doing my 2nd ever this year. Loving it! I’m combining it as sort of the start of a baby album as well (we are expecting our second baby Christmas Eve!) so fun π could you possibly suggest a good tutorial for printing photos like you are doing? (A whole bunch sized at 3×4 as well as the bigger 6×8 ones) that would ba fantabulous!! π Merry Christmas!!!
PS – so very bummed your Project Life kit edition isn’t in Canada, I LOVE it!!! (At least I can’t find it here in Calgary, AB)
I am doing a December Daily album, too. I LOVE your large photos. They really do add a lot to the book. You’ve inspired me to take more ‘fill in’ pretty photos for mine, too. I’m trying too hard to make every photo tell a story. Thanks for the continued inspiration. You inspired me to do this in the first place!
I love your December Daily! Where is the book/binder from and what size are the pages? I’ve been wanting to do December Daily but just not sure what size or what pages to find for a smaller book.
Also, what program do you use to print all the photos on one sheet? I’m new to this kind of thing. Thanks!
Hi, where do you bought everything for you scrapbook?
What kind of paper do you use for each little photo? Is it cardboard or photo paper? Or is it just regular printer paper?
(Love this scrapbook by the way!) (Actually i love this entire website, i found it a month or so ago and i’ve been addicted ever since! You’ve truly helped me bring out my creative side even more than i thought i could! Thankyou!)
xxx
Haha! I love the disclaimer that your photos are out of order. Mine. Too. And that is OK. π Your book is beautiful.
This blog has just reminded me to buy a rounded corner cutter. It adds such a nice touch to the photos!
