There are so many trends from the 90s that I care not to repeat. I even have a few relics in my closet that I’ve been holding on to all these years, like a pair of floral bell bottoms that are WAY less cute than what you are imagining. But not all 90s trends are horrifying. In fact, a huge number of them I welcome back with open arms. Overalls, I missed you… Birkenstocks, c’mere… Crop Tops, 4ever… Even crushed velvet and Dr. Martens.
And choker necklaces!
So this past week I went to the craft store, grabbed a bunch of inexpensive supplies and made my own choker necklace collection… to have and to hold! I’m so in love!
Best part – you can customize this tutorial to your personal style and color preferences! Here’s how it’s done–
Supplies:
-any ribbon or trim
-2 inch chain length (add jump rings to each side if it doesn’t already come with them)
-1 small jump ring (4mm)
-1 clasp
-2 ribbon ends
-round nose jewelry pliers
Using your pliers, secure the ribbon ends to each end of the ribbon or trim (make sure all stray edges are clamped down so it does not fray). Attach your chair length to one ribbon end. Attach your clasp using your jump ring to the other ribbon end.
Here’s what the completed choker should look like.
See how ridiculously easy this is! You’re limited only by the cute ribbons and trims you can source. So start hunting!
What do you think? Are you going to make some? I want to see a photo if you do! Tag us on Instagram #ABMcrafty 🙂 xoxo! Elsie

THAT TOP! WHAT? WHO? WHERE?!
Can you guys please bring back more diys that involve power tools? Your posts where you make tables, small furniture, and shelves have always been my favorite!
They are adorable! The best part is that they can be customized, and super easy to make!!
Thanks for the ideas
It’s really really pretty and easy to make
I’ve missed chokers! They were my favorite, so I’ll definitely be trying this. Love your shirt also!
Excuse me, but it makes your neck looking shorter and it’s seems better for 12 years old girl than adult woman.
Ahhh this is so cute!

These are adorable! I remember wearing chokers back when I was a little kid and its crazy that they are back, but cuter in my opinion! Love the idea of making your own, much more budget friendly! The daisies were so cute!
So cute! I love the one in the first pic especially. Such a great idea for the trims that I love but are way to pricey to buy a lot of.
Also, Birkenstocks 4evah! I fell in love with them the second I learned that they actually fit my problematically-wide feet (Euro sizing FTW!)
Loving the choker! I DIY a “Miu Miu slides” yesterday that I’m sooo happy with! The whole idea of DIying is just fun and I’m enjoying it very much! http://www.fashionparadoxes.com/2016/07/23/diy-miu-miu-slides/
That’s an adorably cute necklace!

I never stopped wearing chokers, and I always got ribbon but just tied it…this is a great way to make them removable and rewearable! Pinning this. Also I love the shirt you’re wearing and how your tattoo peeks out of the little hole.
Wow, so many great ideas upon ur site!! Can’t wait to start DIMyself again!Love this cute little necklace!
I love these super cute chokers! They look really easy to make. My only problem is that I’m too lazy to go buy the supplies. But I made a tied choker with a bow and that saved me a lot of money. Thanks for this easy idea!
