As you know, I've made it my New Year's goal to complete 52 crafts projects in 2012. Just simple and fun projects to use for my home, get organized, to wear and sometimes to give as gifts. Even though it's not quite yet the new year, I decided to go ahead and get rolling! As part of my mother's Christmas present I decided to make her a calendar for 2012 that featured a different picture of my dog for each month (she's just about as crazy for my dog as I am!). I used instagram photos c/o Postal Pix.
Supplies needed: 12 subject images (I used instagram pictures of my dog), plain poster board, a mini calendar (or you can create your own calendar pages), scissors, glue, yarn and decorative paper for the cover (I used silver glitter craft paper).
1. Cut out all your pieces. Trim the calendar pages to the size you need. Cut out 13 square pieces of poser board, big enough to fit your calendar or picture images with a slight boarder. 2. Glue down all your pieces. This step includes gluing down the photo images as well as the calendar pieces. I found it was helpful to lay everything out exactly how it needed to be before I began gluing everything down. 3. Use a cropodile or hole-punch to add holes to the top portion of the calendar, this is wear the yarn will be added to hold the calendar together. Make sure your holes match up with each other as you go. 4. Glue on any decoration you want on the front cover, I made mine say 2012 with a little star for fun! 5. Thread yarn through all of the holes, putting the calendar together in the order it should go. 6. Tie knots in the yarn, and trim off any excess.

super idea! xo

It’s so cute, a great idea. 🙂
Nice calender of 2012. I like your smart way to create it. I like also design and color which are all perfect match in this calender. Thanks for sharing with us.
This calendar is way cuter than ones you can pay a company to make out of your Instagrams. I shared it on my blog on my “what to do with your Instagrams” post!
http://theseedbed.blogspot.com/2012/01/10-things-to-do-with-your-instagram.html
Thanks for your awesome blog!
At least there is enougth room to write in the boxes. Some homemade calenders don’t even have that.
I must appreciate you for the information you have shared. It is a great idea. I will try to make more beautiful calendars.
Loved this idea! Here’s hot mine turned out:

What a great outfit! Love the white and the gold necklace.
Thank you! I used this as inspiration to make myself a couple of schedules.

Love the calendar…great idea! I teach an adults with disabilities art/craft/woodworking class. This would be a great Christmas gift this year for 2013. I take pics of every class of every student working on a project and that would be perfect for their calendar. No asking parents for pictures. Thanks so much!
Anne 🙂
Thank you so much Elsie and Emma too!for creating the best blog in the world….It’s my daily source of inspiration…I also love food coma…You two are my idols….
I discovered it was employed to lay everything out exactly how it required to be before I started sticking everything down. I add slots to the top part of the schedule, this is use the string will be included to carry the schedule together.

I visited your blog today, and I enoyejd reading it very much. It appears we have several things in common: a love of reading, and a love of Japan! I order special origami paper all the time; my current craze is folding those tiny, puffy stars which are given in jars for friendship. Do you see them there?
Lovely ideas!!! Must keep them in mind. Our little man loves his cuuoirs George soft toy and all the books. So we are taking pictures of George in all sorts of daily activities such as reading a book, brushing his teeth, eating bnana, on the slide, in the sand pit etc. we are writing little stories on each picture on the back and wrap them in paper, put a numer on and peg them on a string in his room. Excited if h will like it, but anyhow we are having fun making it!
If you have children, a spusoe, or are around people, then this is a must do’ course. It’s hands on, fully educational, simple to understand, and could save someone’s life. The program gave me lots of opportunity to practice, all my questions were answered, and my certificate arrived in the mail around 10 days later. CPR San Jose is professional, orderly, and gets it done so you don’t have to worry. Thanks Adam!
Franz this is such an awesome dseign! Thanks so much for sharing, it is now my wallpaper for the month and I’m lazy when it comes to changing my background so it may be up longer. Appreciate the awesome paper, my friend!
Lubos: As always your inrmaoftion is always late. Web calendar is nothing new. See BTW if you want to make some money, short google on Apr. 19th, Hitler’s birthday. Don’t say that I have not told you.
so awesome thanks
LOVE the calendar cards. I had already printed a set for September but I will keep these in my stash for next year. I am MOST ABSOLUTELY looking forward to the upcoming sets for other months though! ???? Thank you for all these freebies Elsie & Emma!
