My dog, Love Love, has gotten to be my little dog model twice this past week! First we made him a little food and water bowl, and now: a studded doggie collar. I am in love with studs! So I decided spruce up a plain dog collar, adding a little toughness. Because nothing says tough like a pug. Here's how to make your own:1. Supplies needed: plain dog collar, exacto knife, pliers and studs. 2. Use the exacto knife to cut holes for the studs prongs to go into. 3. Insert the stud. 4. Use the pliers to bend the prongs in to secure the stud in place. Repeat for all the studs. Here's another project where we added stud's to denim.Have fun making your own doggie collar! xo. Emma

Fun and easy DIY! I would cover the inside with another strip of fabric though, because the metal prongs might cause friction. Simply machine stitch down the length of the collar π
Love this idea! And your dog is sooo adorable. I love pugs and I wish I had one <3

Looks great! Just a thought though – Although a little more expensive the screw on ones are probably safer for your pup! I don’t know about you but after some wear I’ve had some of the prongs on studs start to stick out a little which could be uncomfortable.
Another option would be to use studs like this but to hot glue gun a piece of ribbon along the back of the collar to cover the prongs.
I know you get a lot of comments but can you PLEASE tell us where you got your studs from???? I haven’t been able to find good ones anywhere, Micheals, Joannes, boutique fabric stores. Any insight would help! The lady at Joanne’s told me it’s a trademarking issue…
So pretty. Makes me want a dog even more!
This is absolutely adorable! It looks particularly endearing on your oh-so-intimidating pug! I don’t have a pup but would love to make this more my friends. (Uhm, my friends dogs that is)!
Hope you are having a wonderful day, thanks for sharing!

Your pug is so adorable <3
really cute…just a thought or suggestion maybe after inserting the pronged studs..line the back of the collar with a soft fabric, just thinking those little prongs could be bothersome to your dog or potentially cut his little neck.

So, so cute!
