There are two things that all of my springtime cocktails seem to call for… fresh fruit and citrus! This next drink has both. πDragon fruit is both beautiful and tasty. I had put off trying it for quite a while, because I heard some of my friends say it was kinda gross. That wasn't my experience, though. To me, it tasted like a half sweet kiwi. I loved that it was half sweet, because that makes it the perfect fruit to soak in a cocktail!Dragon Fruit Limeade Cocktail, serves one.
1/2 cup dragon fruit, cubed
1 ounce whiskey
1 ounce triple sec
Juice of one lime
simple syrup, to taste
lemon, lime and dragon fruit
club coda
In a medium glass, mix the whiskey, triple sec, lime juice and simple syrup. Mix well. Add ice, dragon fruit cubes and top with club soda. Add fruit slices for garnish. Enjoy! Be sure to eat all the fruit cubes when you are done with your drink too… so refreshing and delicious! Are you gonna try it? What's your favorite cocktail for spring? xo. Elsie

I love dragonfruit.
If you want great presentation, scoop out the middle, chop it up, drizzle with honey and the serve it in the pink shell. It looks great for dessert. I guess you could also soak the pieces in the cocktail before serving – I bet boozy dragonfruit would taste awesome!

It really look delicious. I like dragon fruit. Unfortunately I’m allergic to limes π
I grew up in Cambodia, where we could get super fresh dragon fruit everyday. I love it! My family always describes the taste as a mix between an apple and a watermelon. The dragonfruit that can be bought in the US is small and bland compared to the fresh stuff but still yummy!
I’m intrigued! This is officially added to my list of cocktails to try for spring and summer.

Looks yummy! When I saw the first picture, it looked like there were little dice in the glass, haha π
Okay, I have to ask… do you style your nail color according to what you are photographing that day? If so, I think you do a great job! π
So I don’t do whiskey, but I would substitute tequila in a heart beat. Looks delish!
What a beautiful looking fruit!! I’m gonna buy one and try it;)

definitely going to make this, this summer!! oh my, can’t wait for deck time with some cocktails… wow. I tried dragon fruit for the first time earlier this year, and LOVED it. I described it as having a mild kiwi taste, with the texture of a watermelon. I love the mellow flavour. Triple sec is one of my favourite liquors (hello cosmos!), so I can see this being right up my alley. Great recipe!! xo
great fantasy!
This looks amazing! My favorite warm weather drink is an orange margarita using a muddled orange. So yummy! Bring on the sunshine so I can bring out these drinks π
This looks tasty!!

This looks absolutely amazing! I recently tried to make a prickly pear cocktail, but it didn’t turn out that great. I went back to my tried and true summer cocktail. I call it a lakeside cooler. It has OJ, cranberry juice, margarita mix, rum, and ginger ale. I just posted the recipe on my blog. http://www.thistooisfoundhere.blogspot.com/2013/05/lakeside-cooler-recipe.html

dragon fruit looks so stunning! the colors!
I’m a recent convert to dragon fruit, if you can find the ones that are bright red on the inside they taste much nicer than the other varieties, or so I’ve heard. I actually discovered this week there is a dragon fruit plant growing in my garden : )
I tried dragon fruit because it looked interesting. Once in a while I pick a random fruit I have not had before. Let’s just say I wasn’t blown away. It reminded me of a kiwi but with 10% of the flavour. I didn’t write it off completely but next time I think I have to mix it with other, sweeter fruit
Pretty! I love the black specks (aka seeds) in the dragonfruit. It makes the drink look as good as i’m sure it tastes. thanks!
