ps. i’m taking questions for future blog posts in the post/comments below. don’t be shy. 🙂
OH… and check out my current sponsors one last time, new buttons going up tonight!
  • I love these photos. I have the bug too Elsie. 24/7. I wish I could sit still. 🙂

People do amazing things with photographs. I am so boring. Always sticking them in frames. I should think outside the box.

I would love a post about your wardrobe. I love how you put your outfits together and if you were giving advice to someone who wanted to change their style, what basics would you start with?

    love

  • I’m relatively new to your blog and I’m LOVING it!

I’m curious…what type of camera do you use to take your photos? The picture quality is phenomenal!!!

  • Elsie I loooove you 🙂 This is my second question, I read in your twitter that you stay up so late painting and making pretty things!, how do you manage that? I mean do you wake up late next day or is it just easy for you to wake up early after staying up so late?

I used to stay awake till 5 am and then sleep till 10am XD hehe. But now I have a baby and it’s impossible to do that without feeling useless next day!

    🙂 much love!!

  • #2 is dreamy indeed! ::SIGH::

I’m curious too… Any tips for taking good self-portraits? I love the ones you post! (well, all of your photos in general) Also, what do you use for drawing your craft kits? And finally, what did you major in? Was it useful for what you’re doing now? Heh, I feel so nosy! ;P

    Thank you so much! xo!

  • I’m so inspired by you, and usually baffled by how much you manage to get done! How in the world do you keep yourself going? Where can I get some of that motivation?!

    lovin’,

  • Good evening Talented lady with an eye for great style!

If you could take an aeroplane anywhere in the World this evening…where would you go…and why?

I stay up late too but it’s because I get nothing done with our girls during the day…apart from cleaning and making cakes…because they help me..lol.

I always have a lull around now…10pm, do you have a certain time when you’re exhusted and wonder why you’re not in bed?

  • I am wondering how you produce your images that are printed. They look like they are drawn on the computer and digitally colored. Do you use a Bamboo drawing pad? or Adobe? Quite lovely they are.

  • How do you create a font? If that is too big of a secret to give away . . . how much doodling do you do before you’ve decided on a font you’d like to call your own?
PS Do you find it difficult to obtain health insurance as a single independent artist?
    Thanks and YOUR STUFF ROCKS

  • Hi Elsie!

a few questions I thought of:

    1. any art or craft that you tried and (gasp) didn’t like or weren’t very successful at?

    2. what do you do when you feel like you have no ideas in you?

    3. do you follow astrology?

  • Can I in any way, shape or form get your recipe box???

I keep getting told, “yeah, good luck with that” – haha!

    You are so inspiring!

Oh yeah, I sort of wondered when you sleep too…

    xoxo

  • Looove these!!! I’ve been needing this inspiration!!! I’m wanting to do some sort of display down the hallway, about halfway down and all down the hall. (where the boys can see it) I’ve been trying to think of how to do it. I think I’m just gonna have to go for it!!!! Love this post!!!! xo

  • Hey! I made that Pola-Calendar; I’m glad you like it. I’m working on a new version of it right now, and I’m pretty excited. I’ll be sure to let you know when it’s complete.

I just spent about an hour perusing your blog, and I really like the things you’re creating and from which you are drawing inspiration – keep it up!

  • hello dear! i’ve been following your blog for a while, but this is the first time i’ve commented!

i’d love to know more about how you can make crafting work as a career. i think i saw somewhere along the line that you used to design scrapbooking stuff for a bigger chain… how do you get into something like that? and with rva, it can’t all just be designing adorable stuff… what’s the behind-the-scenes like?

you have a great thing going on, and it’s very inspiring… i’d love to have a crafty career, but i don’t know how or where to start!

    thanks for letting me ask!!

  • Hi Elsie,

Love love love your blog/style/shop everything – just wondered whether you still get time to scrapbook and if you do what types of albums you use?

You are easily one of the most talented people in the world!

  • It’s a private question this time – I love seeing you and Jeremy – you are a great couple. Are there never times when you 2 fight? Does he never get freaked out when you leave your stuff everywhere while creating or work until late?

I was just being nosy. You 2 are really a picture-book couple, but he’s still just a guy, right? And they do complain once in a while 😉

  • Hi Elsie you are so cute 🙂 how do you stay in shape? do you eat healthy? do you have time to work out, you always seem to be working so I doubt it 🙂

    *Loves*

  • I guess i want to know how it al started, i know you had (well still have in stores) your own line of scrapbooking supplies, from what i’ve read i think you stopped designing about a year ago? Well anywho my question is how did you start wokring for them, and then get to make your own line? and how you do make all of your own scrapbook stuff, like the papers and things with your designs?? You are such an inspiration, i swear i’m on your blog twice a day just waiting for your updates!

  • Hi Elsie! I’m new to reading your blog, but really love it! You always have interesting inspiration and ideas! Thanks!

My question is, what is your favourite polaroid camera to use, and why? (I’m thinking of getting one!)

  • i would love to see you review beauty products you use or give beauty/make up/hair tips! 🙂 you always look so freakin adorable. i love trying new products that REAL people use and recommend!

    erica 😉

  • I’m going to try and make the #1 photo display with pictures of our favorite dishes and recipes tapped to the back for our kitchen. Super cute idea.

  • i have a fun question… will you share what you are planning to be for halloween?

    x+o

  • Question 1: What is bubble tea, do you drink the pearls at the bottom, what does it taste like? One inquiring mind wants to know! Question 2: I’m getting married this August (21) and wondering some funky things that you think would make it cool and unique. Thanks for being my favorite blog!

  • My grandmother made me a homemade teddy bear similar to the Doris teddy bear minus the headband. It is one of the top memories from my childhood and I still have it. I was wondering if there is a pattern for the bear. I have some friends that are pregnant and I’d love to pass along the homemade bear tradition. Thanks! It warms my heart to see that bear. 🙂

  • I love that first one! Some awesome ideas here I might have to try out 🙂

    Taking Questions? Cool 🙂
My question is….For those of us who are new to blogging and looking to make connections with other bloggers/artists, how do you do it? What’s the best way you have found to get active traffic (people that comment and come back and that you can make a connection/friendship with)?

    Thanks

Oh and I just recently found your blog and I’m loving it, still browsing through some older posts 🙂

  • What subjects require permission in order for me to sell a commercial, editorial or art photo of it?
Besides many nature and landscape photographs, I have other ones with people, buildings, public art, lighthouses, etc. I realize there may or may not be differences between selling a photo as editorial, art and commercial. If you have experience regarding these issues in selling your photography then please share you words of wisdom. Thank you.

  • And Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman observed: “If God had wanted us to wear flat shoes, he wouldn’t have invented Manolo Blahnik.”

  • ed in a pair of seductive Chanel stiletto slingbacks for $1,300? Or perhaps bewitching five-inch-heel sandals from Manolo Blahnik for a mere $455? Or how about Mirabella’s irresistible patent-leather pumps with six-inch heels from Guido Paquali for Vivianne Westwood (clients Sandra Bernhard, Sinead O’Connor and Tracey Ullman)?
What’s a poor girl to do? Well, if you’re actually poor this doesn’t touch you directly as yet, at least not until the Satanic figures of the fashion industry produce knock-offs of these stiletto monsters for the discount stores. This might provoke a women’s revolution, of course. Female footwear wearers of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but your bunions! But against whom would these females be rebelling? Who are their oppressors? All they have to do is just not buy the Manolo shoes .

  • And, I’ve usually seen Hanukkah cards that are more “fussy”, perhaps elegant. I wondered if I could do a clean and graphic card. I was really happy with how it turned out. I used a computer font, a Quickutz die and some gems. That’s it.
