I am a person that hates to be cold, but one benefit of the change in seasons is that colder weather means warm drinks! While I love a good hot chocolate, coffee, or mulled wine, I’m actually a big fan of tea as well. Making a tea latte on a chilly morning is a great way to enjoy the sweater weather and shake up your morning drink routine.
See our guide to making your own latte at home (without an espresso maker).Earl Grey Tea Latte, serves one
1 cup water
2 Earl Grey tea bags
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
cinnamon for garnish
Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add in two tea bags and let steep for about 7 minutes. Pour tea concentrate into your mug and stir in your sugar and vanilla extract. To heat and froth your milk, use a heater and frother, a handheld milk frother (after you warm the milk in a saucepan first), or you can use the old “jar in the microwave” trick as well to get the same effect. However you get there, pour your warm milk into your tea and then spoon on the milk froth and finish with a dash of cinnamon. That’s my camel teapot named Bruce by the way (he also comes in gold now apparently)—it always makes me happy to pour tea out of his mouth! I love the taste of Earl Grey tea in the morning, but this really takes it to the next level with the steamed milk and the hint of vanilla and cinnamon. Glass coffee mugs are also a great choice for drinks like this so you can see the pretty foam layer on top. It’s the perfect drink to go with a donut or a scone as well since it’s not too sweet either. If you haven’t had a tea latte before, now’s the time to try it! I think that not only will you like it, but you’ll like it a latte. 😉 xo. Laura

I drink warm drinks even in summer – I can’t stand cold drinks in general. I’m so glad you guys are beginning to post more hot drink recipes. Can’t wait to try them all!

You can convince me to do many things, but drinking tea with milk is not one of them!
I always drink it that way! I love it 🙂
Laura
That’s so interesting that you feel that way! In Europe they ALWAYS drink their tea with milk!
This is one of my very favorite drinks! I work as a barista at the local farmer’s market on Fridays and we call this a London Fog. Sometimes I make it with lavender + vanilla which is really good too!
This is the perfect drink to have on a busy fall morning as a reminder to slow down! Looks so cozy and delicious. Yum!
Yum. A London Fog is always my hot drink of choice.
looks good! I am actually obsessed with tea, so I think I will have to try this immediately 🙂

I love a good London fog! If my kids didn’t finish off our milk for breakfast I would be making one asap! My favourite is lavender London fog!
I love tea!! But I don’t make lattes at all because I didn’t think I had the proper tools for it. This recipe is easy to follow and will try it today.

“Like it a latter”
Love me a good pun.
I got into drinking tea with milk on an exchange year in Finland. And I’ve forgotten about that until now. Will have to add some almond milk to my next cup of tea.
I literally made this recipe as soon as you posted it because I was so excited! I didn’t have any vanilla extract but used vanilla almond milk, and it came out SO good! Definitely makes me feel cozy.
Thanks so much for teaching how to make this at home!

Yay!!
Laura 🙂
That teapot is ADORBS!!!! I don’t like tea with milk but I need to say that the teapot is ADORBS!!
(Also, 7 minutes is a lot, I like my tea very light)
Mmm…I love cold weather just for this reason. I’m looking forward to tasting this seasons hot drinks and this one will definitely be one for my list!
I’m usually more of a coffee person but this sounds interesting, I think I’ll give it a try to change this up a bit.
Also, thanks for the link to the microwave tip! I had no idea it was possible to make milk foam so easily.
This is called a London Fog in Canada 😀 It’s my favourite warm drink!
I’m a huge London Fog fan 🙂 I’ve never tried it with Cinnamon! will test tomorrow
Oh this looks incredible! Cannot wait to try! Thanks Laura ?

I tried this recipe this morning (but with Trader Joe’s Chai Tea instead of Earl Grey). It was yummy. Thanks for the inspiration!
Yum! This Earl Grey tea latte sounds so delicious! This is going to be one of my go-to drinks this winter so that I don’t drink as much coffee. 😀
