You know the saying, “When it rains it pours?” I feel like that really applies to your friend group getting married. One year you won’t have any weddings to attend, the next summer it seems like they’re back-to-back, and you’re scrambling to figure out if anyone will notice if you wear the same dress twice! Wedding season is on my mind since I’ve been talking to one of my best friends about bridesmaid dresses recently and all the coordinating details naturally follow. Thankfully most of my friends are pretty low-key—they don’t mind a DIY manicure or hairstyle. This is one hairstyle I’m contemplating for my next wedding to attend; a romantic braided updo that looks far more complicated than it is. Step One: Separate your hair into three simple braids and tie them off with small, clear elastics.
Step Two: Pancake or tease your braids for a fuller or messier look.
Step Three: Take the braid from your left side and pull it across to your right and pin in place.
Step Four: Take the braid from your right side and cross it over to the left and pin in place. Tuck the ends of your braids underneath each other.
Step Five: Take your final middle braid and pull it to the top, tucking the end underneath and pinning it in place.
Step Six: That’s it! Use a few more bobby pins to make everything secure and pin up loose hairs. So easy, but chic enough for a wedding, no? This is what it looks like from the front and side. If you don’t have bangs, you can pull a few pieces of hair down for a softer look. I love that this style can be done in no time at all, but looks very sophisticated—it’s hard to tell where one braid stops and the other ones start! The clear elastics are easy to hide, and try finding bobby pins that match your hair color so they’re nearly invisible too. You can dress this up with some sparkly hair clips or keep it simple. Cheers, Rebecca.

This is adorable! It looks really simple and unintimidating for those of us who are a little challenged when it comes to doing their own hair (raises hand). Also, your hair looks incandescent. So pretty.
This tutorial really makes me want to have long hair again!

i hope this is okay for more than just the bride! On my way to a wedding in Charleston tomorrow and this looks like the perfect way to keep my neck cool (sweat is not so cute at weddings) and done up!
That is so pretty, but waaay to advanced for me 🙂
That looks very pretty! I wish I had your hair though…mine is so thin and fine that if I tried to make the same look it would be a disaster.
Wow this updo looks so elegant and fairly easy to do! Love it and I’ll definitely try it out soon 🙂

This is so pretty! I think it’s great for casual look as well, not just for wedding <3

That was me last year. 5 weddings total. 4 I attended and I guess my bf and I were riding the wedding high as we decided to get married and had a quick 5 week engagement late last summer!
I decided that I would wear one dress to all the weddings and I’m so happy I did. It made the whole getting ready thing sooooo much simpler and easier on my wallet. I also lucked out that all the weddings I attended were with different friend groups.
Oh and I did NOT wear the same dress to my own wedding of course! Just wanted to clarify from my comment above 🙂
I love this! will have to give it a try

I have super long hair, so i do it with four braids instead of 3 and it looks great. I dive my hair into two, and then section them each into a upper and lower braid, and use a ton of bobby pins. It’s a fun summery look!
Great tutorial. I just wish my hair was as thick as yours!
I love this, looks really easy too
