Hi friends. I want to share with you one of the (very few) decorated nooks in our new home! This space includes a large blueprint copy of a photo of Jeremy's and my hands (it's from our first trip as a couple and very special to us), a small collection of plants, homemade beeswax candles, a small ladder that I picked up at a flea market, pumpkins and a homemade yarn tassels.
The look I was going for was autumnal but still very fresh and clean. I will probably decorate this space again for Halloween and Thanksgiving, so I kept it simple! I can't seem to leave the grocery store without at least a few pumpkins lately, so they're decorating my living room and porch for now. I can't wait to roast some pumpkin seeds!
Thanks for taking a peek into my new space. I still have a to-do list a mile long, but it feels amazing to be decorating one mini-space at a time! xo. elsie

I am in-love with the string garland you created. It’s perfect!
Very nice Elsie. Hope you are enjoying your new home!
Gorgeous! The white backdrop! The turq-orange combo! And the plant family!
Cute! I love the blown-up photo. Can’t wait to see more of your amazing looking old house as it takes shape π
Love it!! So beautiful!!
Thank you for posting this! It’s inspiring. I am in the process of decorating my space, my boyfriend and I just moved into a place a few months ago.. and it’s almost looking the way I want it to look. We have a fireplace too! So, this post will definitely inspire a cute look π Follow me on instagram: @sierragrossfitness π
Gah, it’s so pretty! I love all the bright orange, the white background and details, and the POP of unexpected color from the ladder.
Really nice.

It looks fantastic!
Lovely Elsie! Super cute.
Oh this is adorable!!! I love y’alls big print up there π So festive and cozy!
This is really lovely. I love the pumpkins with the colour of the step ladder, it feels almost spring like, which I think is so refreshing! The blue and white really offset the orange, which as it is my favourite colour, I am quite fond of visually. I’m just about to take my first trip with my beau (after our first year together being long-distance!), and I love seeing this image above your fireplace, and I hope I can keep it in mind this coming weekend away in Quebec so that I can capture some pictures of the two of us together which I hope we can look back on fondly some day too :).
Love it! Where did you get your fireplace screen? I’ve been looking for one to pretty up the non-functional fireplace in my bedroom (which is fitted with an ugly non-functional heater that I can’t remove!) The one you have is just what I’m picturing, though I’d probably paint it a bright color. =)
Looks cozy enough for a home and pretty enough for a store display! Love it.

I adore the fact that the tutorials and DIY projects are actually used in your home and not just created for our (readers) sake. Seeing them used in real life is like a little bit of extra inspiration to create them!

Decorating my mantelpiece is on my Autumn Ten Things To Do list. I think this weekend will be the time to get creative.
I’m thinking bringing in the colourful leaves for starters. Love the colours of Autumn.

I am in love with that tassel garland! That can be made for practically any holiday worth decorating for. Really fantastice mantle decor.
THE CUTEST!!!
Ok, so, incomming random question:
I also own a pug, he is 7yrs old and I have yet to figure out a way to control his extreme shedding problem. Please divuldge to me your method of handling this?! The only thing I have come up with was getting him groomed.. but it gets expensive! and honestly.. I would have to do it every 2 or 3 weeks to truly “control” the problem…
Surely when winter season comes, this decoration will be removed. But beautiful decoration. π
Gorgeous colours! And the lace flowerpots are lovely π
Ahh you girls are are amazing and totally talented! I can’t wait to shop from your clothing line it is fabulous!
These pumpkins are fantastic! Love it.

This is so wonderfully put together. I love the yarn tassels, especially, and the picture is very stunning. I wanted to ask you all a question concerning a source for leather. I have found a few online but would feel better having a recommendation from someone who has actually hit the “buy” button before π Is there an email address to reach you all? Many thanks!
Sarah Kate, you can e-mail me at elsie AT redvelvetart DOT com
For leather I buy mine all locally at our Tandy leather shop. Hope that helps!
Elsie
how do you keep the yarn tassels from sliding down to the middle of the string?
K, I didn’t have to tie them. They stay because yarn isn’t too slippery.
XOXO. elsie
How did you mount the print? I just had one made and I am IN LOVE (thanks for the idea!). But I am not sure how to mount it. Right now it kind of looks like a college art class crit room on my wall. Not sure if this look is going to grow on me though.
LOVE the styling and colours! as always x
