It’s the most wonderful time of the year … and I am not going to lie—the most magical holiday season of my entire life!!!
Today, we’re teaming up with Everything But The House for a little holiday cheer. In case you missed it, be sure to check out part one and part two of the series I have written for them. I had so much fun checking their new sales each week to find new items. I found a lot of special things, but I think the jade glasses (actually I think they are sherbet cups?) in my post today are my favorite of them all!
On a side note … I just started decorating our home for Christmas and I chose a pretty traditional color palette this year. I’m sticking with lots of white and gold … glitter … lights and little pops of color here and there. I love mixing jade in with the traditional reds and greens (and pink too!).
I’ll share my holiday bucket list below …
I have two great loves during the holidays: food and music! I found these jade glasses and cake stands as a set on EBTH. I love this color glassware, so finding such versatile cups in a set (there’s six of them) felt like a small miracle. They’re definitely one of my favorite recent finds.
I love making a simple spiced cider. I just mix premade cider (I like to get the fresh local one from the farmer’s market, if possible) and add cinnamon sticks, a few cloves, oranges and apple slices to simmer. As an option, you can add a shot of whiskey (I like rye whiskey), but add it to your glass and not the pot so it doesn’t cook out.
As an added bonus … it smells SO good!
Collecting holiday records is a year-round treat for me. I have a special shelf for them, so when I find a new one I just stash it there and wait for the season to roll around.
I mainly collect records from artists I know and love: Elvis, Dolly, Johnny and Frank. I also collect a few novelty children’s records … need to add the Charlie Brown record next!
I also snagged this amazing vintage ceramic Christmas tree from EBTH. It makes me SO happy! It’s so classic and adds the perfect vintage touch to our record table.
Holiday bucket list:
-decorate sugar cookies
-listen to Elvis’ Christmas Album
-make an ornament with Nova
-watch Rudolph
-make mulled wine
-take family photos
-make homemade Chex Mix
(Jeremy’s childhood 101)
-sew a plush “village”
(started this last month and it’s so much fun)
What’s on your holiday bucket list??? xx – Elsie

Nice!!! & Thank you!
I love your holiday bucket list. Sugar cookies, so essential! 😉
For me, it’s definitely spending time with my family and loved ones. Oh, and a huge Christmas buffet at a swanky hotel – our yearly tradition!

I love your jumpsuit!! It looks amazing on you. Do you recall where you purchased it? We always bust out the Evis and Boney M Christmas records too. So fun xo
Thank you so much! It’s from here- https://bigbudpress.com
xx!
I’m not traditional as such, but definitely sentimental. And starting a slip-in clear-sheeted folder for those Christmas decorations your child will make, is a great idea. I treasure mine, and still use their creations on the tree.
Love the bucket list! My husband and I are writing ours at the moment, as it’s our first Christmas with a child too! One big difference between yours and ours though – as we’re in Aus and Christmas is always stinking hot, we’ll do a festive sangria rather than a mulled wine. Any chance you’ve got a festive spiced sangria in your back catalogue? Xx
Congratulations Dana!! That’s so exciting. xx
You should check out my array of vintage Xmas albums that I have up for sale: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/FrenchToastKitty?section_id=22493864
Maybe there’s one there that you need to add to your collection!! SO fun listening to old records.
I love post!

I always listen to The Carpenters Christmas Portrait. If that’s not an album you have yet… you must add it to your collection!
I love collecting records! What is the brand of your turntable and speakers?
We started decorating early this year too as we already have snow here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin! We love all of the traditional Christmas records too plus you can never go wrong with some Holiday Inn or White Christmas in the background.
I had a Christmas tree just like that when I was a kid! Ours was green, but I absolutely loved decorating it every year (I think our bulbs on it could be removed and moved around).
Soo cute! I love the idea of a holiday bucket list! I am definitely going to make one now too 🙂

Elsie – do you have any leads on replacement bulbs for that ceramic christmas tree? Not the big one inside, the little ones on the outside. We inherited a reeeelly old one, and it’s missing a few. Thank you!
EBay is your best bet! You’ll probably have to buy a bag, but they are relatively cheap. You can even get cute shapes, like stars or doves!
OH MY GOODNESS! I am obsessed with old Christmas music – why didn’t I think of collecting records until now?! Jingle Bells by Frank is one of my all time favorite songs, but Blue Christmas is also really, really good. Have you found any of these online? I’ve only bought new records, so do you have any tips on buying from record stores? I think I need to go into NYC this week on a hunt!!! Thanks so much Elsie! Also, you look super cute in that outfit! 🙂

Could you share your spiced cider recipe?! It looks so good!
It’s in the post, it’s just not formatted like a recipe (and although I make it pretty much the same way each time, I don’t have an official recipe) xx!!!
The records are definitely the best part of this post for me. I LOVE the look of that wall and all those vintage tunes must be perfect for the season. Love the idea that you collect them over time on a special shelf. I don’t normally go for records but I should apply that to something else I can collect for the holiday seasons to come! <3
Have a lovely week.

Making mulled wine and decorating sugar cookies are definitely on my bucket list this winter, along with collecting as many Christmas movies as possible and turning my house into a cosy haven!
Making mulled wine is on my bucket list, too! I am so excited for the holiday season!

“Take family photos”
^that made me tear up! I love being a photographer and documenting our life from my perspective, but having family photos taken of the three of us is one of my favorite things ever. I’m so excited for you to get to experience that. Much love <3
I’m sure you’ve mentioned this before, but that print with the pinks and oranges coming from what looks like a crater is BEAUTIFUL! Can you link to the source?
Your holiday’s bucket list are surely heartwarming 🙂
Absolutely adore those vintage ceramic trees. I have one that was my mother’s and it is one of my prized possessions.
Our Christmas bucketlist is about a mile long since we will be traveling through Europe!! Elvis Christmas album is a must though.
I have one of those little vintage ceramic Christmas trees that my Grandmother made! It’s one of my favorite things to display during the holidays.
Ooooo where did you get that photo of the colorful smoke??
It’s from my friends shop! http://www.shopahouseinthehills.com
xx!
I would loved to see the completed plush village! I love Christmas villages so much.
I love you bucket list. I’d love to do an elaborate ginger bread house, but we’ll see if I have time!
Such fun ideas–it’s just the best time of year! Having a little one will make this Christmas so special! Mary
This is so fun. Such cute holiday decor. Love this!

My grandma always makes Chex mix for Christmas, also! It’s so much better than store bought… and she always slightly burns a little bit, and my taste buds adjusted accordingly… the burnt pieces are my favorite now! lol.
We have that same exact ceramic tree! We grew up with one and I’ve started a little collection. They remind me of my childhood. I love that you have one too!
Such fun and inspiring ideas! I love that photo of the colored vapors
i love that collection so much , i wish i could have it
that was epic collection of you

Please share photos of the plush village when you’re done. I’d love to make something like this for my son. Very cool idea–and safe for the little ones to play with.
