I don't know about you, but I LOVE finding out about new craft supplies I hadn't heard of before. Just one new product can open up a whole new world of possibilities and projects, so when I saw this post about iron-on heat transfer sheets, my DIY heart lept for joy. A few weeks ago I saw that our local craft stores were carrying the product in a gold glitter version (I know, right??) and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep well at night until I made something with it. Here's how I used it on fabric for a sparkly, and super friendly, glitter pillow: Supplies: Gold glitter heat transfer material, fabric scissors, iron, white cotton fabric, pillow stuffing, and pillow piping (optional). 1. On the back of the heat transfer material, draw your design (remember to draw words backwards if you choose a phrase). 2. Cut out your design with fabric scissors or an X-Acto knife. 3. With your iron on the highest cotton setting (and the steam option OFF!), iron the spot on your fabric where your decal will be placed for about 15 seconds. Place your design shiny side up on the fabric and iron over the top of your design with medium pressure for 25-30 seconds. Flip the fabric over and iron for another 25-30 seconds on the back side of the design. 4. Let the decal completely cool and then peel off the top layer of film. 5. Now your heat transfer is complete and you can use your custom fabric to make your own pillow!I love how easy it is to use this material and my mind is swimming with all the fun things you could do with it. For now, this sparkly face is a friendly reminder to start my day off right (and reminds me of all my 90's babydoll t-shirts!). And the best part is it doesn't get glitter on everything it touches. What design would you put on your pillow? xo. Laura

I never knew about this until right now. It’s so cool, I love it. I want to go searching for some and slap glittery cutouts on everything.
Awesome, must give this a try someday! Think it would be cool to use the gold glitter with mint and make some diamondshapes with it.

I love how this turned out. Who knew that they had glitter vinyl!
This makes me wish I could transfer it on the wall! Much easier than sticking glitter on it.

So fun! I love the idea of doing a glitter word of some kind…like “rad” or “yes”. Something simple-ish! I love glitter..now I need some! π
This is really cute. I love the glitter π
um, yeah…that is great!
I think a star would be cute but it is a little bit clichee so I think I would draw an animal. A rabbit would probably be the cutest!
Love it! Also really like the little table on the side.

This is so fun! I love the pink piping. Could you pretty please tell me where you got that side table? π my email is acreativecookie@gmail
Oh I love heat transfer vinyl! I took a commercial arts class a few years ago, and we used heat transfer vinyl all the time (we used a heat press, beats an iron, but not economically worth it for home haha), but never glitter!!! SO cool.

A glitter pillow like this would look great in my daughter’s room! Or even our living room π
these turned out fantastic! the boutique i used to work at sold a similar version on burlap with a heart for about $300…what a simple {and must less expensive} option.

This is adorable! Definitely want to try it! I’m not sure how long ago you made the project, but I just was curious how well the transfer held up to some wear and tear. Thanks!
I love glitter in pretty much anything. Will have to try this, just wondering how you can purchase the vinyl internationally if you know ?
This is so cool! I had no idea this was possible. I can’t wait to try it!
(Oh my god, this is amazing! I never knew such a technique existed. π
This is awesome!!! I’ll have to track some down for myself, hopefully I can find it in glitter! A love heart would be a bit cliche but cute or maybe some small stars.
Love your craft posts Laura, they’re always so simple and clever! <3
I absolutely cannot wait to do this! I love pillows and glitter. This is perfect, this would work for so many different type of silhouettes, like wild animals… which I totally plan on doing as soon as I get a hold of this glitter! Thank you for sharing this with us!
If I had this stuff, everything I own would soon be gold glittery!
Wow, this is so pretty. But I bet that IΒ΄ll never find this here in germany. π
I think I would make some pillows with glittering hearts on it. That would be nice. π

I’m so adding this to my DIY to-do list. What a great idea!
Can anyone explain to me how would I print letters and words in this glitter vinyl in different fonts. It’s hard to cut by hand. Is there a way to print on it.
