In the spirit of spring cleaning we've been making lots of home decor projects with things we already have laying around. My (sweet) husband has (politely) requested that I stop buying and bringing more and more new things into our home. Instead I'm getting focused minimizing by using what I have to make something new. This, along with a good purge/donation day, is making spring feel so fresh! Here's a fun project you can do on any skill level to transform two mason jars into pretty glowing votives for your home…
1. Supplies: Mason jars, magazines, tissue paper, scissors, mod podge. 2. Cut triangles out of tissue paper and magazine pages. 3. Apply a layer of mod podge and begin attaching the triangles. 4. Apply triangles to the entire jar, creating a pretty pattern! After your collage is completely dry, seal the outside of the paper pieces with an extra layer of mod podge.
Now just add tea lights or a bouquet of wild flowers for a pretty centerpiece for your home! Hope your Sunday is swell… elsie

This simple DIY is right up my alley. I have some old salsa jars that I have been saving up (ie. hoarding) for a good project and I think this would be perfect. An apartment is always cozier with candles 🙂
