Geometric Wool Felt Pillows

Geometric Wool Felt Pillows (click through for the DIY tutorial!)Woohoo! We're finally getting the party started in the living room. We've been busting out projects all week. (Feel free to give me an air high five!)

Today I'm here to share some fun geometric pillows I made with wool felt. It's one of my favorite projects I've made recently because I had so much fun playing with color!

1First things first, you'll need to pick out some felt. I love high quality wool felt, but if you're on a tight budget (or in a hurry!) you can do this project with felt from any craft store (which is usually a synthetic material). I bought my felt on Etsy from Crafty Wool Felt. I love the colors they carry.

Supplies:

22Cut the felt into 3" x 3" squares and then slice them from corner to corner, creating four triangles from each square.

44Next, plan out your pillow top. It's really fun to place the triangles together, finding the perfect color combinations. I made pretty large pillow tops (about 21 inches square) with 7 squares across both ways.

6Quick tip: I tried a couple of methods, but the best way I found to tack down triangles before sewing was just a little bit of fabric glue in the center of each triangle.

77Stitch along the long edges of each triangle. This will tack both sides of the triangle down.

9Once you've stitched all the triangles down, cut another piece of fabric the same size, and place the sides you want to become the front and back of your pillow together.

Stitch around the pillow, leaving a 4" gap at the bottom center of the pillow to turn it inside out and add stuffing.

10Turn your pillow inside out. Now it should look like this! :)

11Add stuffing. My rule of thumb is stuff it a little bit more than you think it needs. Last, just hand stitch that 4" hole closed, and you are done.
