Happy Thanksgiving, friends! We’re wishing you an early one as myself and the rest of the A Beautiful Mess team takes a little time off from blogging to spend time celebrating with our families. Some of us have miles to travel (maybe we’ll listen to a few audiobooks as we do) and many us have plenty of cooking to do with and for loved ones! No matter what you’re up to, we wish you a happy and safe day and we’re sending you a big hug from across the internet.
Even though we’re taking a break, we know many of you may still be looking for some Thanksgiving Day inspiration and recipes—so here’s some of our best ones from the last few years. Think of it as a compilation “best of Thanksgiving” blog playlist made just for you. 😉
Don’t plan to cook but still want your house to smell amazing and be filled with those cozy Thanksgiving vibes? Try this stovetop simmer.
For me, Thanksgiving is all about the casseroles and side dishes. Yum! Maybe you’re in charge of bringing one this year and you don’t know what to make still. Here’s a few of my all time favorites:
Delicious mashed sides: Mashed Parsnip and Potatoes / Mashed Potatoes and Beets / Slow Cooker (Classic) Mashed Potatoes
Casserole me: Pepper Jack Green Bean Casserole / Cauliflower Au Gratin / Duchess Sweet Potato Casserole / Cranberry Apple Stuffing / Twice Baked Potatoes
Need a delicious and tasty salad: Red Quinoa, Kale, and Grapefruit Salad / Creamy Winter Pasta Salad / Creamy Kale Harvest Salad / Autumn Bliss Salad with Stuffing Croutons / Kale, Brussels, and Cranberry Salad
Let’s talk main courses. Obviously we all need a good turkey and gravy recipe, but what else? How about trying these stuffing meatballs? Or for all of you vegetarians (or vegans) out there try these lentil meatballs with cranberry sauce.
And we haven’t forgotten about you all out there who are just in it for the desserts! Here’s a few of our favorite pies and other Thanksgiving treats:
Pumpkin pie in a jar (travels well) / Sweet Potato Pie with Boozy Marshmallows / Cranberry Pie Bars / Sweet Potato Creme Brûlée / Spiced Bourbon Apple Pie / Pecan Pie Ice Cream
We hope you have the best day! – The ABM team
