Today we are partnering up with Chronicle Books to bring you a fun hair tutorial from the book Braids, Buns, and Twists! A whole book of hairstyle ideas? Yes, please! I chose the bow braid, because it's a technique I've been wanting to try, even though it's on the medium-hard difficulty level. Having an extra set of hands around for this one is ideal. But once I got the hang of it, I LOVED it!
Step 1: Create a french braid anywhere you'd like. Step 2: Gather a section of hair just behind the braid and spritz with water. This step really helps to create the bows! Step 3: Stick the top of your hairpin through a section of the braid. Step 4: Take a very small section of hair and create a loop. Thread the loop through the hairpin. Step 5: Grab the hair loop and gently pull the hairpin down, tugging the hair loop and the hairpin as you pull. Step 6: Repeat as many times as you'd like! Any remaining tails should be tucked behind the bow underneath.
I love this look on Laura's hair. Hair her is very sleek and straight, so I left her bows a little messy and undone to add texture. This would also be a cute style in the front hairline for gals with no bangs! If you would like smoother bows, I suggest using hair wax. If you are unsure of where to start with the french braid, there's a tutorial for you right here! Happy braiding! xo. Katie

How neat! That’s something I’ve never seen before. My issue is that I have both very fine and very thin hair. It’s tough for my to do nice hairstyles like these.
