I've recently read a lot of reader requests for easy summer hairstyles. This style is so pretty. It can be styled with a daytime outfit or going out at night! Best of all, it only takes about five minutes to style!
Step 1-2: Depending on the volume of your hair, separate your locks into 4-6 sections. Twist each section and roll it into a mini bun at the bottom of the back of your scalp. Start with the outermost sections. Pin each section as you twist it with 2-3 bobby pins per bun.
Steps 3-4: Continue twisting and working your way to the center of the scalp. If you have a gap in between two buns, repin to fill the space.
Steps 5-6: Pin any long hairs that are still loose.
Step 7: You've done it! Now, you can wear it like this or add pretty things.
Steps 8-10: We added a pretty little flower we made with raw silk. It's the perfect summer hairstyle, both pulled together and effortless!
These twists are perfect for quick styling when you're on-the-go! Be sure to try a variety of accessories like a handmade flower or bow!

very pretty!
I’ll have to try this, thank you for sharing! I have curly hair (harder to style) and no hair styling skills; but this style is so easy even I might be able to pull it off.
Ugh this is SO adorable! I’m good at pinning one big bun (a skill I just mastered and am way proud of), looks like I’ll have to try pinning more than one! Thanks for sharing!

LOVE this! Thank you so much for sharing! I’ve been looking for some cute [and easy!] things to do with my hair this summer. I am so bored with pulling my hair up in a ponytail, haha. <3

Perfect style for getting your hair off your neck and looking good. Way better than the pony tail that I usually do 🙂

I’m so excited to try this! My hair is just above shoulder-length and it’s hard to find hairstyles that will work for it. Thanks!

i love this so much! i used to wear my hair in a variation of this everyday for about 4 months straight. so cute!!
I like it. I always try to figure out how to fix my long hair in new ways because it’s easy to get in a rut!
i’m definetly trying that!
I’m definitely trying this tomorrow! 😀
Thank you for sharing!
Wow! Thanks so much for the hair tutorial! I am definitely going to give this a try soon!
i need to try this – although i’m afraid i might have too much hair!
I used your method for easy no heat curls and they work great! Not too curly, so it looks as if my hair has natural wave ( which it doesn’t!)
Thanks and keep bringing the hair ideas!!
LOVE this! Thanks so much. I can’t wait to put on a sundress and place a pretty flower in my hair!
So wearing this to college tomorrow!
Perfect for the sewing room as it gets so hot in there, and my hair will be out of the way of the machine in style! 😀
thank you so much for sharing! (: xxx

Really nice hair style. Looks girly and romantic ;-)I love the color of the hair flower as well.
This is fabulous!!!
This is seriously one of my favorite posts ever. It’s so simple and pretty, and it’s really fun to learn new ways to wear hair low on the nape of my neck. Perfect for summer. I’m going to do this sometime this week.
xo
i wore my hair like this today! although my hair is much shorter ( just above shoulder length) so i used lots of bobby pins. On my drive home I took out the pins and rocked a straight on top large curls on bottom type of retro look for the rest of the day..it worked out nicely.
this is such a pretty and laid back look. i am going to have to try it sometime <3
Wow, this looks easy, and even good for thin hair like mine 🙂 Inspiration.
So beautiful! If I didn’t have a shaved head right now I’d love to style my hair like this. 🙂
wow. this looks great!

Wow it looks beautiful! What a great way to do your hair. So different and stylish. I love it!

Would love to try this, but alas, the art of placing bobby pins eludes me! My hair just ends up falling out anyway. Still, the style looks beautiful.
Cute! My baby has just figured out how to grab big handfuls of my hair so getting it up and out of the way (while still looking cute) is great!

I tried this and blogged about it! I Love it! Thank you for the awesome idea! I always struggle with long hair and usually end up chopping my hair to a pixie cut because of that. This might actually save my hair!
Oh, my! I love this look. And I think my hair is finally long enough to try something like this!
Beautiful! I wish my hair was longer!
lots of love from

Soo pretty! I wish my hair was longer!
Ooh I love this! I am always in a long hair rut. This looks like a great alternative to the usual bun I tend to sport all summer long. (long hair + heat = not good) I’ll definitely have to give this a try!
I tried it today! Looked lovely 🙂
This article has made me feel all gifty! Thanks!

The first ring-wearing idea reminds me that for a majority of my life, my mom wore just her wedding band so she wouldn’t scratch us kids. I had totally forgotten that until I saw your picture.
You made some decent factors there. I seemed on the internet for the problem and found most people will go together with along with your website.
I am definitely going to try this this afternoon. Thank you! Beautiful site.
I got really emotional reading this post! It is so amazing to read your story. I’m extremely inspired and as a reader I’ve enjoyed being distantly along for the ride!
Thank you for posting all of these cute and simple hairstyles that are so feminine yet easy to do! You have broken them down so that they are not intimidating and make me want to get creative with them on my own! Keep it up! 🙂
awww lovely hair…. I have long hair and i love to do different hairstyles. so thanks for sharing daer.
I’ve done this but I did 5 sections in 2 layers so it went like this:

Looked super cute
I guess it is a perfect summer hairstyle. It looks so good and pretty, haha I like to that style one of this days.
shannon that is so right. to many people mention princess leiah when i wear buns but i don’t see a resemblance at all when i see these
I tried this and it’s so easy to do – I have abnormally thick hair so I needed a myriad of bobby pins to keep it in!
Cute, I will try this too. I had idea to cut my hair, but your sweet advices – no way. :-))) Thank you!
Hi Elise,
I was hoping someone could help me out, I don’t quite understand how to complete “Step 2”. I get how I’m supposed to twist the hair, but how am I supposed to get the bun around from those two strands?
Thanks loves,
Kat

I just tried this and I love it! Thanks for the easy how to. I’m always wanting new ways to do my hair.
LOVE THIS!! It’s so cute!
wow.. i really like it.. i try it once ..lol<3
This is an extremely cute style. I recently discovered that “Goody” makes spiral like hairpins that are made for this function. Generally, I only need the one spiral in each bun twist. Love it!
I did this hairstyle the other night when my husband and I met some friends out. Everyone loved it! I even slept in it and wore it the next day. While I was making breakfast, all three of my sons commented on how pretty my hair was. Thanks for sharing this!
Just had to say thanks for sharing this! I’ve been wearing my hair this way all summer and get stopped by at least one person each time I’m out with compliments. I find that if I start with freshly washed wet hair, it twists and stays in so much better. If I can manage to sleep comfortably with it still pinned after wearing it up all day, I can remove the pins in the morning and have nice wavy hair.
