I thrifted this little "Love" frame the other day. The design is made with beads and I thought it would look cool in an art grouping in our home. Jeremy snapped these photos right before we went out to dinner (he's nice).
I got to pick a dress from Ruche's Resort Lookbook (such a pretty lookbook if you haven't had a peek). I almost never wear long dresses because I'm only 5'4", but I took a risk and absolutely LOVED this dress. I think it's my favorite summer dress.♥
Outfit Details: Dress c/o Ruche, Dream Catcher Necklace/vintage, Purse/Steve Madden, Bangle/vintage.

I love this dress, it is so similar to the Marc by Marc Jacobs! The colors feel so fresh!!!
Your dress is supercute and has a great boho vibe! I know what you mean about long dresses on a short frame as I’m barely 5’2″ but I really think the continuous pattern actually makes you look taller.
what a great thrifted find… and i love the colors of that dress! it looks so cute on you 🙂

love the color stripes in that dress.. very cute! great little thrift find too! i started a ‘mommy + me style’ feature today on my blog… a long skirt i never wear anymore and totally fell back in love with. i NEVER were long skirts but i’m thinking they are worth revisiting this summer!

I love seeing you wearing a maxi – I wonder about it sometimes because i’m 5’7 and a lot of times they’re even too long for me without platforms. The other day i wore one to a wedding with 4″ platform heels and was the tallest woman there – haha. It felt pretty cool, i could see above everyone.
PS. I also love how you don’t tan but always look beautiful. YAY FOR THE PALES!
Very cute! I’m in love with stripes right now.
Love the colorblocked dresses!

I really had no idea you were 5’4″! I’ve always thought you were taller.
cute dress
I almost bought such a similar print at buffalo exchange in new Orleans. It looks fabulous! I’m only 5’3″, and I used to think the same think, but I found an amazing maxi at Target and then on sale at anthro. Both dresses are great go tos. Lovely look! Xo. Katie Scarlett
Hey! We are kind of twins today – I got the shorter version of the dress from Ruche. You look great in the maxi version. 🙂
You look like a goddess! 🙂
That dress is amazing, I love the colours in it. To me, you’ve looked taller than 5’4. 🙂
love that bead art! and the dress is lovely. i am really digging Ruche’s resort lookbook!!
Beautiful dress! The maxi length looks great on you.

Gorgeous dress! I really need to check out Ruche…can you believe I made my first (EVER) ModCloth purchase last week?! I need to step up my game. Haha.
Love the “Love” frame to, by the way. 😉
Love it. You look so cute in it. I’m barely 5′ high, so I don’t think I’ll ever find a long dress, that suits me :)!

You look amazing in the dress. You have the opposite problem to me. At 6 foot tall that dress would def be a-swinging round my ankles!
omg! swoon, love the dress!
I couldn’t find your email to ask you this through email, but I was wondering if it would be okay if whenever you have a giveaway, if I could link to it on my blog, to let my readers know both about your blog as well as the giveaway? Thanks so much for your response!

Love the maxi dress!
The dress looks gorgeous, I love the colours! I am a shorty too and I never thought I could wear long dresses until I tried on a fleur wood pale floral maxi dress one day, and it actually didn’t look too bad, I was so surprised! x

Beautiful dress!!! I’m even shorter and I still wear long dresses, just always make sure I am wearing the dress not the dress is wearing me ….. and I always have to chop a whole heap off the bottom!!!
Love the dress, love the bag! You have the most fabulous doll hair (and I mean that as a compliment).
Thrifting for the home is a favorite hobby of mine, but I can never fit it in! How do you make it such a wonderful routine?
haha I wear maxi dresses and Im 5 foot nothing. I dont care! haha. This striped number is pretty!

Wow! I had no idea how short you are!!! But, needless to say, you rock the dress!!! Love it!
you are so cute! i love the outfit and the frame!
5’4″ or not, you look adorable in the long dress. I really love it! And, the hair is looking fab as always!
What a lovely dress!! And that frame is gorgeous, too! You and your husband sound so cute together! <3
How pretty! Give to me? Just kidding! (unless you really want to!)
whoa! i work at a consignment store and someone just brought us this dress last week. i didn’t know where it was from because the label was ripped out but now i know! i love it and i tried it on, but with my height it ends up being an awkward not-quite-midi but not-quite-maxi length. oh well!
I’ve seen dresses like this floating around the blogosphere lately and I love it! I love how there are variations! 🙂
That is such a sweet dress. I really love the different color stripes, they’re so cute! [and your hair is gorgeous, by the way!] xo.
I thought that look book was amazing too!!! This dress looks great on you!

Certainly which includes to your factors yet We differ having various other things, to sum up it’s a great document !
I’m the same height as you are and i own 1 maxi dress (unfortunately the weather is very bad over here 🙁 so i could only wear it once). I loved it! If it is the right maxi dress for your body type (right shapes, fitted waist for example) i think it works on every height and it can make you look taller even!
You look so beautiful, I love stripes too and your maxi is perfect!

Love, love the dress!!!
Ooh excellent summery dress, really loving your hair today too 🙂
This dress is beautiful! I usually shy away from the maxi trend because I’m the same height as you, but this is so lovely 🙂 I’m such a fan of bold stripes this summer.
If you’re fed up of uncovering a gem in your favourite vintage boutique which fails to fit, then this is the collection for you. If you’re a fan of quality vintage fabrics and quirky original trimmings, then this is the collection for you…
The Paper Dress Vintage collection transforms nine iconic, stylish shapes from the past 80 years into a bespoke range of elegant vintage garments which could slot into any ladies’ wardrobe as perfectly now as the decade in which they were conceived. Rare and exclusive vintage fabrics are used in the collection, adorned with vintage trimmings, all sourced from extensive treasure hunts and created using hand-crafted, traditional techniques to ensure the highest quality throughout. The collection is unified in it’s flattering, wearable nature; from the elegant 70’s-inspired Kimono Maxi to the high waisted 40’s Pencil Skirt, each piece has been designed with the modern figure in mind, using impeccable tailoring and intelligent pattern and fabric choice to elongate, emphasise and flatter today’s woman and her body. Each piece will be totally unique, though the basic shapes will remain the same, and incredibly environmentally friendly.
The collection is available in 3 sizes:
Small (8/10), Medium (10/12) and Large (12/14).
Boutique owner and designer Hannah Turner Voakes puts it perfectly
“Nothing compares to the feel and smell of authentic vintage fabrics and trimmings; they have the ability to transport you to rose-tinged pasts, whether your own or other peoples.
For me, it’s bringing memories of different eras and fitting it into today’s fashion landscape.”

I always steer clear of maxi dresses too – at 5’1” I look like I’m dressing up in mum’s clothes… but just got a very-well fitted one in a sale 🙂 Gonna style it up like you with flats and bangles.
Yeeees that dress is super fantastic.
Love the colors of the dress! It looks great on you 🙂

JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS! It reminds me of a dress that I have been absolutely head over heels for… Its from Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2011, and its the same colours and basic idea… AGH I love it.
