Probably the most worn DIY from this year (for me) would have to be this denim and lace shirt. I've worn it so many times. Maybe too many times. Maybe. That easy project inspired this winter/athletic spin on the idea. What I love is that you could use any color hoodie or any color lace you prefer to customize to your own unique style and taste. I like grey and white, because I'm boring. π1. Supplies: Hoodie, lace, scissors, sewing pins, sewing machine. 2. Begin by cutting out the front of the hoodie, leaving 1/4 inch from the seam and the front pocket. 3. Use this section that you just cut out as a template to cut out the lace section. Cut it out 1/4 inch larger for a seam allowance. 4-5. Next, turn the hoodie inside out and pin the lace section in place where the front of the hoodie use to be. When pinning, be sure both seams are facing upward, so that it won't be visible once it's turned right side out. 6. Lastly, pin and stitch the pocket in place.Have fun making your own glammed up sweatshirt! π xo. Emma + Kinsey

I love this idea, and the denim one! I want to try these DIY’s in a few months when it gets a bit warmer here. Lace is so pretty for the spring months.

this is the cutest EVER! I always love your ideas but this one is the cherry on the sundae! LOVE IT!
Love this! The saddest part of throwing on a hoodie (which I’m prone to do since they’re so dang comfy) is then nobody can see what you’re wearing underneath… fixed!
So chic! Love how you mixed these trends.

I’m making my first own hoodie right now. This could very well be my next project… I love hoodies, so comfy and the lace just makes it so pretty!
Ooh.. Or maybe I could just lace out a pocket of a shirt or something π
This turned out awesome! I love the look – one because I love hoodies and two because now I don’t have to look like I just rolled out of bed wearing one π Thank you!

Wow! Really love this tutorial, very “romantic”. Now, where can I find a hoodie….
great idea. =)
This looks great! I have a question about sewing with lace, though- it’s so delicate and rips easily. I was using lace in a different project (a dress) and it ripped almost immediately, near the seams. How do you avoid weakening the lace with the seams?
I love this combination!! Comfy and dainty all in one π

I might try that, but with the lace in the back instead of the front. Now to see if I can find some lace and borrow a sewing machine…
