It’s always fun to create a cocktail that evokes a treasured memory. This summer, my husband Todd and I took a little mini anniversary trip to Kansas City and had one of the best meals of our life. We tried a few of the most delicious sounding cocktails and resolved to recreate a few of them once we got home. It only took a few hours of turning our kitchen into a cocktail lab before we figured out our own delicious version. Ready to make your own?Lemonberry Martini, serves one
• Cranberry juice
• Lemon
• Citron vodka
• Elderflower liqueur
Pour 2 ounces of cranberry juice, 1 ounce elderflower liqueur, and 1 ounce citron vodka into a cocktail shaker with ice. Juice one lemon and add 1 ounce of lemon juice into the shaker (add a little less if you want your drink to be a little less tart). Give your cocktail a good shake and pour into a martini glass. Enjoy!I love the fresh citrus flavor in this cocktail. It’s light and not too sweet which makes it a perfect cocktail for ringing in the new year. Here’s to 2014, cheers! xo-Laura

As a fellow Missourian, I’m curious what restaurant in KC provided one of the best meals of your life? Always looking for new places to visit when I’m in KC for the weekend 🙂
Yummmm! Lemony-booze is pretty much the best! I don’t have some of these ingredients, but maybe I could whip something up!
