I wouldn’t say that I’m naturally the most organized person in the world, but I want to be a super organized gal. Any little thing that I can do or find to help me fight clutter is always worth a try. I thought that I was heading down a good path by putting a metal desk organizer on my kitchen counter for incoming mail and important documents, but I ended up taking advantage of that fact that it could hold a lot of things and stuffed it full with way more items than I needed to keep. I decided that having a smaller system would still keep my papers together but would force me to keep only the important items and clean it out more oftenโAND of course it should be cute too, right?
Supplies:
-Pocket file
–adhesive-backed vinyl
– scissors
-magnets
-super glue
-craft paper
-painter’s tape (optional).
1. Create your pattern shape (I chose a Swiss cross) and cut your template shape out of craft paper. Use this to trace your shape onto the back of your vinyl sheets and cut out as many pieces as needed. 2. Position your shapes onto the front of your pocket file. If you have some painter’s tape on hand, it is helpful to make little tape donuts on the back of each shape to keep them in place while spacing them out. Once in the right position, peel the backing off one shape at a time and stick them on to the appropriate spot. 3. Use your super glue to glue 4-6 round magnets on the back of your folder (or buy some that have an adhesive backing). Once the glue dries, you’re ready to organize your mail!
There you have it! It’s a super quick (and cute) way to organize mail and keep all your important papers (like pizza coupons) in one spot without taking up any counter spaceโYES! xo. Laura

Love this idea! How much weight does it hold? We always have things falling off our fridge because the magnets don’t seem to be strong enough.
This is a great idea! I currently have a junk drawer, where I basically did the same thing you did to your desk organizer. One big upcoming project for me is to sort, file, and recycle everything in that drawer. This is perfect timing!
Super cute idea! I love the colour and patten of the envelope.

Cuuuuuute! We always throw ours right onto the kitchen table. It’s a habit I’ve tried to break, to no avail. Maybe a cute little mail holder like this would help, haha! Thanks for sharing!

Such a lovely idea, wish there was more space on our fridge to do that. Saving for future reference though! C:
xaxa, that is a great idea. Have a nice day.
What a great idea to put the magazine in the fridge. It’s a good idea if you’re on a diet, while you see all the models spectacular with their dresses, you put less salt and butter in the meal ๐

This is a really great idea, I need something like this for my mail!
I love this! I’ve been trying to find a cute and organized way to keep my mail (I love my boyfriend, but he has a bad habit of picking up the mail and just leaving it in a pile on the table instead of going through it and getting rid of what we don’t need). This might be the trick!
