Valentine’s Day is almost here! Whether you’ve got some romantic plans with a partner or just grabbing some drinks with the girls, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite non-toxic makeup items to get a shimmery look that’s ready for wherever the night takes you! Hopefully it takes you to at least one place with some sweet treats or candy though …OK! Let’s talk foundation first! So I LOVE using Juice beauty perfecting concealer (in Sand) to brighten up dark circles under my eyes. It covers really well and doesn’t dry out my skin. Then I buff Rejuva powder foundation (in Natural Beige) over my face as a base and highlight with their powder bronzer (in Caribbean) under my cheekbones, on my chin and nose bridge, and the top of my forehead. Now the eyes! I used Lily Lolo Brow Duo Pencil (in the light shade) to fill in my brows and added some simple lashes with some lash glue (this one from my fave glue brand has a low score on EWG). That brow pencil goes on so easily and those lashes are perfect in that they add volume without feeling over-the-top crazy (read more about lashes 101 here!). Next, I did a generous sweep of shimmery gold and bronze mineral eye shadows (Gold Digger and Brown Sugar in the eyelid crease) which are so pretty when the light hits them. After adding a cat eye of liquid liner (I like that liner a lot, but like a lot of more natural liquid liners, and you do need two coats for full coverage), I finished off my lashes with one of my favorite natural mascaras (it smells so good too!).The Gold Digger shade is the top one (a bit of a lighter gold) and the bottom is the Brown Sugar (has more of a bronze tone to it). To add a bit of a dewy look to my cheeks, I used this Glow Stick in Champagne by Pink House. I just run the stick down my cheekbones and then use my fingers to blend the shimmery goodness into my skin a bit, and I get a beautiful highlight that really catches the light. And what’s a Valentine’s Day makeup look without a signature red lip? Our Oui Fresh Ring Pop lipstick is that perfect shade of red with coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin E to keep your lips soft and hydrated throughout the night. And how cute is that red top with the tiered bell sleeves?? The perfect V-Day choice to pair with that lip bag too … anyways, you can use all these makeup items all year round, but I love how they all come together for a special and shimmery Valentine’s look. Hope you have an extra special V-Day! xo. Laura
