the weather has been pretty amazing the last few days. Sunshine & rain? i love it!

PS. this week Jeremy's mom gave me a huge box of brass and silver keys (they own a mailbox store). I still have no idea what i'm going to make with them, but i feel like i should use them for my next D.I.Y. project…. any ideas? also, any tutorials you would love to see here this Spring? i always enjoy your suggestions!

Did you see that Project Runway episode where one of the girls made a necklace using keys from a hardware store? It was super pretty!! Or glue magnets on the back and make them into cute fridge decor!
I want the necklace hanging to the far left.

i thought it was a neat idea 🙂
huge fan of your blog!
I always loved, in the movie A Fairy Tale, the crown made out of keys, and wanted to make one.
If keys can be made into a crown I guess they could be made into anything?
Maybe stuck around the bottom edge of a (drinking) glass?
A hanging curtain or single strand of beads and keys, etc.?
🙂
I would love to see a cute cloud mobile tutorial or something like it for the spring. 🙂

There is nothing better than a little sunshine. 🙂
Those keys are full of infinite possibilities. Just have fun and see what takes hold.
Aw, I love keys 🙂 Antique keys are the best, I collect those. I’ll definitely have to buy one of those necklaces.
I think a key chandelier would be cool!
I bet the keys would make a really pretty looking (and sounding) wind chime.
Paint the keys and make them necklaces. They’re one of my favorite accessories.
I think you could use the keys for a necklace, to decorte a frame, or paint the keys and use them as a keyring
Good luck 🙂
omg…your glasses just took me on a blast to the past! they look just like the laura biagiotti sunglasses that i was absolutely obsessed with in the late 80’s! mine had shell across the top. lol! thanks for the happy memory 😀
can’t wait!! faux pearls=love.
elsie do you still make the woodgrain tote bag??? i really wanted to get one from the shop but couldn’t find them
xo
You should do a DIY on how to make our own cool necklaces. c:
I think you should make a unique art piece with the keys. Like using a bunch of them in the shape a key on the wall or in large frame. xo
I was going to say the project runway necklace! I made one of those a long time ago (without the screen) and it gets tons of compliments!
I love the black beaded necklace with the flower, it is super adorable!!!!! <3 Sonja
i saw that someone else said wind chime and that’s what i used some of mine for. i also took some and hung them at different lengths in my front window. keys are fun, plain and simple!
The project runway necklace also popped into my head, but you can color or even change them to gold, silver, antiqued, etc. with alcohol ink. It’s one of my favorite things to play with, and it won’t chip off.
i made some cute hair ornaments with keys a few years ago 🙂
OMG,you are so beautiful, and very sweet! ;D,i really love reading your blog. And hope that very soon!,mr.larson and you; give us the news that you’re pregnant!,you going to be a great mom :DDD!

Oh, keys. One of my favorite things. Ever since I saw this in ReadyMade, I always wanted to stumble across a ridiculous set of keys and make one:

It seems like the lampshade/chandelier option is taking the lead. Why not put your twist on it?

i love the neew necklaces! ithink u should make more necklaces with the keys and teams them with pearls, lockets and chandelier drop crystals and little bottles with notes in saying key to my heart!
I actually used some old keys as handles on cupboards…just have them hang down below the door
There was a very cool key inspired necklace on project runway recently.
ohh those necklaces are pretty!
Lol, I also hang my necklaces on my wall, it’s so much easier to grab what I want in the morning, plus it displays others I would forget about.
These necklaces are very very pretty!
A tutorial on how to make your blog buttons would be great. I’ve been trying to make my own for a while now and I’ve been having a hard time.
old keys = a dream!!!
xo.
I’ve seen a couple of cool necklaces made from keys lately. One was on Project Runway….the other I can’t remember.
I’ve just been inspired to go through my jr. high jewelry and craft with all of the pieces. Oh and I want one of those key necklaces for my own!
