You can file this one under “simple ideas that make me ridiculously happy.” I love goat cheese, but it’s not the prettiest cheese for a cheese board. So this past weekend I tried covering three logs of goat cheese with random toppings and they came out REALLY cute!
The toppings are toasted coconut, wasabi peas and unsweetened chocolate chips (to which I also drizzled honey). Sweet and savory!
Some other toppings I want to try are pan-fried rosemary, salted caramel and diced peaches. mmmmm
Next time you’re making a cheese board, try adding some goat cheese logs with fun toppings! What flavors would you choose?

You should also try blueberries, or chives! It’s one of my personal faves.
What a cool idea! Perfect for summer nights 🙂

It looks SO GOOD. Now I wish I could eat cheese 🙂
I do try to be open-minded. And actually, there are SO many kinds and forms of goat cheese, and so many that really ARE pretty. But anyway, one of my favorites is with peppercorns, and another is with herbs. But I’m spoiled, being close to really good goat cheese producers straight from the farm.
One thing I’ve learned is not to serve cheese too cold. You should take it out ahead of time. I had heard this, but I was instructed by a lovely French mom during a PTA dinner in France: to make the cheese perfect, get it to room temp ahead of time.
Mmm! Pan-fried rosemary would be delicious indeed!
I’m thinking cranberries would work very well with this too. Yum!

my favorite way to eat goat cheese is with pepper jelly on top – it’s savory but also a little sweet. The flavors go really well together!
Garlic and chives are delicious as well! Chopped up lavender is another beautiful way to mix things up, drizzled with honey. One of my favorite makers has a fire-roasted chili chèvre that is SO addictive. <3
I love your wood board! Where did you find that beauty?!
YUM
We always do crushed pistachios and craisins rolled on goat cheese at thanksgiving time.
My family does it with pecans and a sweet and spicy tomato sauce! You should try it!

These look lovely! I personally don’t love goats cheese, but we buy a roll that’s smothered in garlic when we visit our farmers market and it’s delicious! I’ll have to try some of these!

Oh this is just perfect for a picnic. I hope I’ll find wasabi peas here in Germany.
Lots of love,

These look like so much fun! Would you ever consider sprinkling some fresh pepper or other spices on the goat cheese?
Wow! This is SO COOL and seems SO DELICIOUS! I would make it right now for breakfast!
Need to try. This week!
Thank you! 🙂

OH my gosh they look so yummy!!! Will definitely try this next time I make a cheese board.
A note of interest: As vegetarians we may choose goats cheese as an alternative to meat. However, due to the growth of the goats cheese industry more goats are being bred. The females are kept, but unfortunately, as goat is not a popular meat for eating, the males are destroyed. Goats cheese may not be as animal friendly as we think! eek!

Goat cheese is also fabulous with extra virgin olive oil! I just put a log on a small oblong dish, let it go to room temp, drizzle the oil over it, and serve with rosemary olive oil bread or crackers. Now I’m going to have to try your take on it!
Oh god these logs looked really mouth watering, amazing recipe!
This is one of my favorite go-to apps! My personal favorites are: bacon & chive, dried cranberry & pecan, and dried apricot & pistacios! =) I’ve made them into little bite-sized balls….so good.
Great idea for dressing up Goat cheese. A whole list of try-outs comes to mind with this recipe of inspiration. Can’t wait to try out for our next social get together. Stay beautiful!
Goat cheese logs are so good!!

We like to coat the log in sunflower seeds, drizzle with honey, and garnish with fresh blackberries.
I make a goat cheese ball with pesto and sundried tomatoes, so good! I would never think of wasabi peas but the little green balls look so cute!!
Yum! I would have never thought of doing this. I also love goat cheese, but I agree that it’s not the prettiest cheese to put on a cheese plate all by itself. I love the idea of experimenting with different toppings.
