Oui Fresh Beauty Box – December Unboxing

Happy December, beauties!

It’s Keely—the manager at Oui Fresh—filling in for Elsie while she and Jeremy are in China picking up Nova girl (yay!!!). I use a lot of exclamation points and this box is straight gold, so brace yourselves for the excitement to come. We are beyond thrilled to unbox December for you. These products are unbelievable and there are three full-sized items! We wanted this month to be all about treating yourself and achieving that healthy, gorgeous glow, because it can get a little stressful around this time of year—even if it’s good stress. A lot of pressure can build up around finishing year-end projects, making time for holiday plans, and getting everything checked off of your shopping list, so it’s good to make some time for yourself and get into a good skincare and self-care routine. As we move onto products, I have to say one of the best parts of my job is getting to meet the owners and teams of the small businesses we work with to include in the box. Leahlani Bless Balm (value $48) –

We are so excited to introduce you to Bless Balm from our sweet friends in Hawaii, Leahlani Skincare! As someone with sensitive skin that is prone to dryness, I felt like I had found the “end all be all” deep hydration product when I tried this for the first time. I also struggle with redness and found that it helped reduce inflammation as well. You can feel the soothing effects of this balm as soon as it’s applied, and if you’re not used to a thicker, balm-like texture for facial hydration, don’t worry—this melts into the skin effortlessly, especially right out of the bath or shower. I use this on my lips as well to prevent dryness and chapping and it works like a dream. The smell? So, so good, guys. This balm is formulated with neroli oil which is one of the most luxurious scents EVER. Elsie and I flip out over anything with neroli—it’s such a recognizable scent and is always a treat to find in products because it’s a very precious (*cough* expensive) oil.

Oui Fresh Hydrating Lip Gloss in ‘Cosmic Brownie’ (value $18) –

This is my most used Oui Fresh product, and I am so excited we get to share it with you all this month! Let’s start with the shade: It can be worn by anyone. It is so universally flattering and is much more sheer when applied than it looks in the tube; it’s the most lovely brown-based nude. The formula of our lip gloss is truly remarkable—we are SO proud of it! I love reaching for these glosses in the winter because the combination of shea butter, vitamin E, and coconut oil work to heal and protect your lips, it’s not just a lip gloss. The emollient, velvety formula covers every part of your lips where waxy chapsticks tend to skim over cracks, not truly healing the places that need the most help. This gloss is such a winner!

Oxalis Feel Good Potion (value $16) –

Elsie found this product at the Porter Flea here in Nashville and knew it had to be in the box! Oxalis is based out of New Orleans and besides beautiful packaging, this company just gets it. Their products are such high quality. Feel Good Potion is a roller oil blend that’s designed to combat stress, headaches, nausea, and fatigue. You know those times when you feel so bad you don’t even want to smell anything? I’ve pushed through that feeling to roll on some Feel Good Potion and not even a few minutes later, I have relief. Peppermint, lavender, and black pepper oils are the heavy lifters in this blend, and they WORK. Roll onto your temples, forehead and wrists to experience the good vibes.

Biossance Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel (value $18) –

High performance products tend to be the most difficult to find in natural beauty. Thankfully, that’s starting to change. Biossance is a really innovative brand that has created a plant-based squalane (we produce squalane on our own, reaching peak production in our teens and tapering off as we age; it’s a hydrating molecule and one that keeps our skin feeling elastic and looking firm). They’ve used this plant-based squalane along with peptides that help fight wrinkles and plump your skin to create this eye gel that is really amazing. The gel has a soothing effect and my skin looked brighter and felt firmer after about three days of use—results I only used to see with my conventional products. Biossance products are also EWG verified (we use ewg.org to score the products that go into the box), which makes us feel really good.

Kaia Naturals Juicy Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths (value $3) –

Cleansing wipes are awesome, no doubt. But have you ever used one and your face has felt kind of tight after? That’s not a good sign and means the good oils are being stripped from your skin, drying it out. These wipes are formulated to do the exact opposite, and while they do cleanse really well (organic honey is the second ingredient in this formula and is antibacterial), your face is left feeling soft and hydrated from a gentle cleanse. Throw them in your bag to use post gym/yoga or travel—so convenient. You can also use them for eye makeup removal and they smell amazing (no artificial fragrance, of course). Besides being great for your skin, these cloths are great for the environment! If you plant them, they biodegrade within 70 days as they are made of bamboo fibers. Pretty great, huh?

Each month will be a different assortment, but it will always include some skincare and makeup. We will not do skin-tone-specific makeup colors (so don’t worry, we will never send you a foundation that doesn’t match your skin!).
