Here’s my last batch of photos from the wedding rehearsal. We practiced with the real music, but none of the real words and no kiss at the end. π It was pretty fun and helped the kiddos feel comfortable and ready for ‘their big day’.
We chose to have our wedding ceremony on the third floor above Red Velvet. It’s a beautiful huge old room with peeling wallpaper and large windows. Needless to say, there hadn’t been an event held up there for decades, so we did a lot of work to prepare it (including building a new stair rail with Jeremy’s dad). The flower backdrop for the ceremony was handmade by Jeremy and I (I’ll share a tutorial at a later date). It was a combination of new paper lanterns, handmade pom-poms and fabric pieces.
This day was so special and surreal. I was more nervous the day before than on the actual wedding day. It was so good to be surrounded by our best friends and relax a little bit!
Thanks for sharing these memories with me! elsie

Are you going to share why Emma and Hope have blue hair? I love it, I’m just wondering if there was some kind of reasoning behind it :)From all the photos I’ve seen, your wedding was perfection!
So pretty!
An amazing room! I also would like to know if the blue hair was synchronised!?
Cool pictures:) colorful room!
I just love every detail. How amazing is that location…and all the work you both put into it! Thanks for letting me be a witness of your wedding…virtually π Hearts, Janna Lynn
AMAZING! I cannot wait to see your wedding photos!
looks great! i love the building!
Love the backdrop of paper lanterns and pompoms. Really made the room pop and is quite fitting to your personality!
feathers instead of flowers? YES FTW! lol love feathers
Seeing your photos makes me feel so excited as I plan my guy’s and I’s big day (in a few months!). I’m hoping to pull together something just as personal and touching as yours seems to have been! congrats again!
gosh, that backdrop is gorgeous! i love all the variety – pom-poms, paper flowers, pinwheels, and the colors!!
Elsie I love the pictures of your rehearsal. It looks like you all had so much fun! I grew up in Springfield, and believe it or not I have a vague memory of the store that used to be where RV is located now. (I was REALLY young when it closed). I think you could open that third floor to special occasions and it would do really well. Just a thought =>
I love the wall decoration, the colors are so pretty! Everything looks so amazing!
Everything looks so magical and it’s just the rehearsal! Way to go! Love Emma’s blue hair too.
Congratulations!
Colors!! Awesome! I love it. π I like the idea of feathers instead of flower petals. Did you make the backdrop yourself?
What a perfectly special setting for your wedding.
Oh my goodness, I love that your flower girls tossed feathers! That’s so sweet.
COOL SPACE!

I love that you used feathers instead of flowers in your “flower” girl baskets! I am so in love with that building!
Your wedding party is so adorable and well dressed! And what a beautiful space!
That is such a cool room! I guessed it was at your business address π I also wonder how many other folks would be interested in renting your top floor space for their quirky events?
Looks like you had everything under control Elsie (why am I not surprised), and I am truly dying to see the photos of the real big day *grin!* LOL π
this looks lovely, elsie! your wedding party is so stylish, even the guys! more boys need to dress like the best man in these photos, please. haha.
The scenario is so beautiful and you all look so colorful. I love weddings which look a little different than the classic ones. Yay for you two! and all of your friends =)

I adore these rehearsal photos! Loving the colorful backdrop -C.C.

It’s mad that the actual rehearsal is an actual rehearsal (that sounds stoopid doesn’t it?!), but we don’t have that in the UK or France – just turn up on the day and hope for the best!!! XX
amazing!!!
that space…you two…your lovely friends.
it looks all so wonderful…and with lotΒ΄s of love!!!
thanks for sharing these picΒ΄s!!!

great! as the person before me wrote, it’s uncommon to do an actual “rehearsal” in germany, but i agree with you that it’s probably best for the kids involved. (:
i love all your wedding photos and the flower wall hanging, it’s so pretty and unique. and i love the room your ceremony took place at! can you marry officially anywhere in the us? or did you get “married on paper” beforehand and this was just the official ceremony? in germany, there are few places where you can get married officially (just the registry office and some special places). if you don’t marry there, you have to get your official “yes” at the registry office and then repeat the ceremony at a different place which is quite ridiculous i think… );
btw, i’m just taking your blog love-e-course (as a reward for myself for finishing my first book!) and it’s lovely. i’m feeling so inspired! i feel like re-doing so many things already – and i’ve only read the first 3 chapters… (;
the photos are all so beautiful! and how truly exciting for you! xo
Is that the last rehearsal? =) Is that the wedding venue? Well, I guess the wedding would be perfect.
so beautiful! it looks magical!
I’m sure having the rehearsal helped a lot with the nerves too π
Ha! Love Leigh Ann struttin π

I’m a new follower – but I am just loving everything in every post!
That little girl’s blue hair is amazing. π
Oh, lovely!! How rad is it that you got to hold it in your own wallpaper-peeling place? And I *adore* that you guys made the backdrop together – adorable!
the setting really was perfect – in the place where your life is blossoming. You really pulled it off – i’m so happy for both of you!
Looking at these photos gives me goosebumps for my wedding in 24 days!!
Also how is it that everyone you know has amazing style?

What an amazing space! I know your wedding was so crazy! Congrats!
the back drop is GORGEOUS. congratulations girlie….it looked like there was a lot of love being spread that day!
I just stumbled upon this URL to write a review on the website http://www.invity.com which I had used for creating my wedding website. So thought to drop a few words on it. I was referred by my friend to create an wedding invitation online for my wedding. I created my website in just 10 minutes and was able to announce my wedding site to all my friends easily. The themes they have on their website is soooo good that I was changing my website’s theme often. I started as a free member and now upgraded to premium member to use more robust features. I strongly recommend all “to be” married couples to check this website before committing on other wedding website.
*DROOLS*
I would have given my left arm to photograph your wedding.
β₯ it.
The colors are bursting! π
i love that you saved the kiss for the real thing, so sweet! also, the space looks great, the natural light is so pretty

so sweet! i love this one
I love the way your wedding looks like one of those photos with most of the color bleached out but then a few poignant POPS of color. I’m not sure if that’s just how the photography edited the photos or if you intended to decorate that way, but I love it!
