Warm blankets, hot apple cider, and craft nights are just around the corner because FALL is almost here. DIY projects are way more fun this time of year, don’t you think? This roundup is all about cozy projects like throw blankets, duvets, and pillows. Ready to see our favorites?
With this simple tutorial, you can make your own velcro bedskirt that’s really easy to remove on laundry day. We’re fans of anything that makes laundry day easier!
Make a cozy blanket (to use while binging Netflix, of course) using different colors of faux fur to match your decor.
Give your bedding some extra texture with a linen coverlet. This would be perfect in a guest room to add some fancy hotel vibes.
Who wouldn’t want a cute donut pillow to brighten up their day? Don’t forget we have a pizza pillow DIY, too.
Make a sleeping bag for your next camping (or glamping!) trip. Bonus points if you use cute fabric. ????
Give us ALL the throw pillows, please. If you love having extra pillows on your bed, add a bolster pillow to the mix. You could even make two of them to add to a sofa.
Learn how to make a hand-dyed shibori duvet. Special projects like this are so worth the time and effort.
You can even make your own dyed velvet pillows using the same method. Pink velvet is so dreamy!Learn the basics of sewing with Emma’s zippered throw pillow DIY. If you have pets, you know how nice it is to have a removable pillow cover. We love this pillow cover too.
A plush animal nap mat that will actually encourage nap time. And, here’s a DIY you make for play time!
Make a duvet cover using any flat sheet.
Look at that cutie! Laura made her own crib rail cover using soft, organic fabric for Lola.
The words “easy” and “quilt” don’t usually go together, but this DIY is easier than you think—promise!
Speaking of quilts, how adorable is this pastel rainbow quilt for a nursery? You can tell it was made with love. 🙂
Grab some fabric paint and let your creativity do the rest. You can see how Elsie made these abstract pillows here.
Let us know if you make something from our roundup this weekend! xo. -The ABM Team

I bought my first sewing machine this year and teaching myself to use it had been a fun adventure. These are great project ideas! I’d love to try the pillow covers, but eventually I hope to try the duvet cover, too!

So many cute designs! I LOVE making pillows as they’re such fun decor pieces, and it’s such a calming item to make. I made myself a donut pillow not too long ago, as well as a choc chip cookie and two chocolate bar ones! Not just walking into my house puts you at risk for a teeth cavity! ????????
The bed skirt is a great idea but…….I’m interested in the rug beneath the bed. I love the rug.
