Nothing says holiday party like mulled wine. Warm, sweetened and spiced red wine served with a festive garnish—fun! If you've never tried mulled wine before, be sure to give it a go this holiday season. Make a batch to share with friends while playing board games, wearing cable knit sweaters around your fire place. Too much? I'm just trying to paint a cozy picture here, guys. Dare to dream.
Pomegranate + Ginger Mulled Wine
1 bottle red wine (I used a cabernet sauvignon, any kind is great though)
1/4 cup honey
juice and seeds from 1 pomegranate
1-2 tablespoons fresh peeled ginger
3-4 cinnamon sticks
In a pot stir together the wine and honey. Add the pomegranate juice and seeds, ginger and cinnamon sticks. Heat over medium heat for 8-10 minutes. This will reduce the amount of alcohol slightly. Strain out the seeds and ginger. Serve hot with a cinnamon stick and a little pomegranate peel for garnish. xo. Emma

This sounds delicious and I happen to have a pomegranate in my fridge! Definitely making it tonight :). Thanks for the recipe, Emma.
mullet wine is a huge thing in germany around christmastime. originally the red wine is heated with cinnamon sticks, anise, cloves and orange slices. i add diffrent kinds of juices like a cherry juice to flavour and to sweeten it.
have to try your recipe.
Looks really good and the colour is awesome.
Looks yummie! I really love wine but I’m not sure about the pomegranate, more reason to try it out!
thankx for sharing!

Anything wrong with cable knit sweaters and board games by the fire I ask you? 😛 I love mulled wine, I love German Christmas markets for the beautiful aromas of the Gluehwein and various food cooking smells, all visible scents rising in the cold winter air. Mulled wine is warming and cosy, perfectly paired with cable knit sweaters although too much of it may make you lose your board game 😉
mmmm it is for sure delicious !!
