I love a simple ReStyle with lots of visual impact and since my gold shoes ReStyle took three nights of painting and repainting I opted for a 1 hour project this time! Last week I purchased this 1980s black mannequin/display piece for $8. Everyone at the shop protested and said that I shouldn't have brought it back at all (we have too many mannequins as it is, but surprise-surprise… I couldn't resist! I saw this piece's ReStyle potential. For this ReStyle I simply covered the black display piece with book paper, using masking tape. It's a little tedious, but book paper is a theme in our shop so I knew it was the right choice for our space. After I felt like it was a really pretty piece and a great fit for my boutique, Red Velvet.
Here are my favorite ReStyles from other participants, via our Flickr group….
This dress ReStyle is very pretty.
This dreamy dollhouse is SO much fun.
Erin's kites made from unloved shirts in her own closet are really adorable!
and I simply ADORE Margot's Doily Lamp ReStyle.
Have a lovely, lovely day! Elsie

thanks for posting!! i love them all and glad you likie my lamp! 🙂
The inside of that dollhouse is SO AWESOME! That’s like my childhood dream!
So glad I came across your blog! Looking forward to reading more!
I’ve been trying to think of ideas of what to do with the too-cute clothes my babies have outgrown. A few of them are too sweet to just donate. I think I might go with the kite idea! I was just going to do some boring cut-them-out-and-frame-them deal. This is MUCH more creative!
I love seeing these! The kites are so fun and I love the dollhouse!
OMG I love that mannequin!! Where do you find them? I would love to find an $8 one.
Wow, that mannequin turned out really cute. If I had seen one like that in a store for 8 bucks… I wouldn’t have bought it. Before it looked somewhat… unstylish, to be honest.
Amazing what one can do out of ugly objects 😀
Thanks Elsie! I’ve been loving Project Restyle. It’s my kind of thing, I love the ‘push’ to actually finish projects I’ve been putting off forever.
**I saw that doll house the other day and I am in love. Penelope would love love that.
And for real? That 80’s mannequin was ridiculous but you made it look soooo pretty.
As quite a new follower I missed the dolls house before – LOVE!!

Those kites just made my heart leap, they’re way too cute! x
that dollhouse is sooo freaking cute!
So many great ideas! I am absolutely in love with the doll house!
OMG, I literally just covered a mannequin in old book paper for Project ReStyle this week! Crazy!!! Will post pics soon… ♥
Oh booo. I just threw out an old lamp shade. What is wrong with me? There are so many old doily’s sitting in an inherited piece of old furniture currently in my possession. That could have been a great craft for this weekend!
Currently kicking myself.
I love the creativity. Restyling old or worn-out articles is such a great hobby. Saves money and is immensely satisfying! Clothes are particularly interesting. How many of us have thrown out an old, out-moded garment without even considering how it could be remade? A great place for inspiration!
Also loved the UP reference. That made my day.
That Ms. Fairy (in the blue dress) is one talented bonnie lass! She can do it all! I recommend ya’ll check out her blog… Puts me to shame every time I read it>>>TALENTED!

i to am a big fan of restyling…i work in a clothes shop and it really annoys me when people don’t buy something due to a wrong length of dress or trousers, its like the easiest thing to change about a piece of clothing. Keep up the lovely work and showing others xxx
Beautiful restyles!!!

Love that dollhouse! What a score!
The dollhouse is so adorable!
I love the dollhouse!!! I remember having a similar one when I was little!
Loooove that mannequin. If I could cover every single thing in my house with book pages, I would.
Ever since I had Georgia I have been obsessing on doll houses. My grandfather built me one for Christmas one year and it’s definitely my favourite holiday memory. I would love to find a fixer-upper one day and make the perfect house for my girl. <3
All of the restyle posts are really inspiring.. I’m hoping to think up something I can do soon! 🙂
The dreamy dollhouse is so pretty!
The dollhouse is so perfect! I dreamed of a dollhouse like that as a child <3
