Do you ever notice how everyone gets pumpkin spice crazy in September? Everyone just goes totally nuts-o for pumpkin spice lattes and anything pumpkin, or orange. It's just silly.
On that note, guess what? I have five pumpkin recipes coming your way this week. Because, as it turns out, I am one of those crazy pumpkin spice people. Deal with it.If you're feeling like pumpkin for breakfast, good news. I got a couple ideas for you. What about a pumpkin spice breakfast smoothie? Oh yes. Creamy and healthy pumpkin goodness.
Pumpkin spice smoothie, makes one.
Needed: 1 banana, 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 1/4 cup oats, one tablespoon honey, a pinch of cinnamon and ground ginger.
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. If needed, add a few tablespoons milk or water. You can add or leave out the honey to adjust the sweetness level to your liking. But wait, there's more. What about some pumpkin spice cream cheese? Yes, please. This is as easy as creaming together 1 package of softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree and a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread on a toasted bagel or english muffin. Enjoy the season! xo. Emma

Pumpkin for everything! That is my saying 🙂
Ooh, thats look so yumy! 🙂
Sounds great. And beautiful pictures too!
Yay, I’m hungry 😀
It’s not even autumn here in New Zealand, but I am totally going to incorporate these into my spring menu! Yummy.
unfortunately they don’t sell pumpkin puree here in Australia. I KNOW. tragedy. it’s spring time for us this time of year so we don’t have the same halloween/fall/pumpkin culture that America does and so pumpkin-flavoured everything just doesn’t exist here! we need to make our own puree, which is.. well, a lot of work. i use pumpkin soup, if it looks suitable. last year i made pumpkin pie using pumpkin soup and it tasted pretty authentic, according to my American fella!
Mmhh this sounds so good! here in Germany the people don’t go as pumpkin-crazy as in the States, but it has definitely become a fall trend to eat pumpkin soup and stuff here 🙂
The cream cheese spread sounds like a really good idea for my morning toasts, think I’ll have to try go pumpkin-crazy this year too!
Oooh I wish it were cooler here! But in Taiwan we’re still fully immersed in summer. Which means major humidity and heat! Can’t wait for winter, and I will definitely be trying these recipes. Thanks!
This is a GREAT idea! I am so ready for pumpkin everything this fall. I swear, one of these days I’m gonna go to Vermont during October and drink a pumpkin spice latte in a park filled with crunchy leaves. This is an awesome post, and I’m glad someone else shares my excitement. 🙂 Can’t wait to try this.

may be a dumb question, but do the oats in the smoothie have to be cooked? I pinned this by the way. yum yum.
I also am wondering if you have a good substitute for banana? This sounds so delicious, except for that part!
Oh my! That looks so good! I have to try making this.

I love pumpkin but haven’t tried all these kind of variants could be made out of it! Start when my friend made the best pumpkin puding cake I’ve ever tasted. I am sure your recipees would make me pumpkin spice people:)
pumpkin cream cheese, awesome idea!
xo, cheyenne
I just tried the pumpkin spice smoothie! Really yummy! Just a note to any ladies who use Greek Yogurt, I substituted a little milk for yogurt, just to speed up the blending process, but it definitely still has the oh-so-creamy-ness that greek yogurt gives. I’m also loving the oats, I was a little skeptical at first, this you don’t even notice them, and it’s so good for a little fiber kick!
Thanks Emma!
I am pinning all these pumpkin recipes too. I have been a pumpkin lover my whole life. (once when I was 16, I was too sick to eat the pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and I cried. Mom bought me an entire pie to eat when I got better. What a good mom). So now that it is trendy to have pumpkin everything, I get so excited this time of year and buy everything pumpkin-y. Am I saying that I am a pumpkin hipster because I loved it before it was cool? Yeah…Yeah I am.
