Just wanted to share a recent read with you all this lovely Saturday. For the last few months, I've been (very slowly) reading The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau. The reason it took me months to get through isn't because it's boring or I'm a terrible reader (I swear!). There is just so much good information and inspiring stories that I never wanted to read too much at once because it sort of felt like eating two cupcakes in a row—what a waste! Did that even make sense? Hopefully you get what I'm trying to say here.
If you've never heard of The $100 Startup, then I highly recommend you check it out. The book compiles tons of data + stories of creative entrepreneurs who started successful businesses on a shoe string budget (or no budget at all!). I thought it was incredibly inspiring and a great reminder to think outside the box when it comes to business.
Also, if you've never heard of Chris Guillebeau before, you should totally check out his site. He has tons of great information and other resources that are super valuable if you are the creative/business-y type. 🙂 Thanks for letting me share! xo. Emma

Haha- I totally understand the struggle of trying to photograph screeens (Kindles, iPhones, Laptops, etc). I’ll have to read this- I’m definitely in a transitional period in my life, and I keep realizing that you spend more of your waking hours with your job than you do with your friends and family, so for that reason you better hope you love it haha. Thanks for sharing, Emma!

This looks cool and I will check it out, as an aspiring entrepreneur. Thanks for the review!
THIS seems like a good read…I always head over to Barnes and Noble and skim through tons of books. I’ll be on the lookout for this one on my next trip! My favorite thing is thrifting things and recreating them into beautiful anthropologie-worthy items…my ultimate dream job is to open up a shop with all my re-purposed creations. This seems to be up my alley! Thanks for this suggestion, Emma!

Such a great book! I went to his Creative Morning Portland talk and it was pretty great and love how he just travels a ton. I’m also friends with his wife, who is a pretty amazing artist.
Lol to the eating two cupcakes in a row comment. I am just starting up my own blog and this book sounds like a great read. Want to pick it up on my nook as soon as I get some time to read!! Thanks for sharing!
This is the first “business” book I read when I decided that I wanted to start my own business. I had been wanting to start one for a long time (a few years) but felt that I didn’t have the resources. Reading this book was a turning point for me, and helped me realize that if you plan it right, you don’t have to have a ton of money to get started, especially if your business is online!

Thanx for sharing! The one more step on startup a company is making ads on your product. I am an owner of a small handmade business. As every business owner I want to attract more people to my store, build up a brand and boost sales. In such case I need to find professionals in ads business. One my fellow advise me this planform http://hic.technology . Now I am thinking about extending=)
