Today we launched a Kickstarter project for Red Velvet. If you're unfamiliar with what Kickstarter does, it's a really great fundraising program for small businesses with specific upcoming projects (read all about Kickstarter here).
At Red Velvet, we are preparing for our Fall/Winter Dress collection. After the success of our Spring/Summer Dress collection we want to expand and grow. We did the first collection on a very small budget and we want to offer a larger Fall/Winter collection on September 1st of this year! We are still planning to invest our own money, but we need a little help getting to the next level in production. We've already assembled a team summer interns who are incredibly excited to be a part of the collection. The funds we raise from Kickstarter will help us purchase industrial sewing equipment and supplies in larger quantities.

What a neat idea. I vaguely remember you mentioning maybe including a Plus Size line soon, would you be doing that for Fall? I loved your dresses so much, but wouldn’t be able to wear the sizes you did for Spring. Hoping it’s coming up for Fall 🙂

elsie- Lanae, that’s so sweet of you! Thank you! We intend to have *much* more to go around this time! And I’ll definitely do extra in the custom print dress this time (since the Kite Day was so popular). I already have it designed and it’s so pretty. Thanks for your support!

A: We plan to select a few styles (ones that will flatter a plus sized figure) to produce in a larger range of sizes this season. We plan to go up three more sizes (XL-3X) in those selected designs for Fall.
In addition we are adding some handbags and accessories to the collection, so those will fit everyone! XO.

A: We felt it could be too complicated (sizing, time etc…) and wanted to send the goodies out immediately after the goal is reached rather than months away… XO!
Made my donation earlier today. I heard about Kickstarter in the Dream Job ecourse and have been hooked since.
Can’t even tell you how excited I am to hear about the bigger sizes. I’ll be camping out on the store September 1st and vow to get a dress. If I miss a big one 🙂 I’ll get a little one for my daughter.

Your kick starter’s cool! Did you consider getting a loan or insurance for your store? You know, my girlfriend wants to have a vintage store also, and she sees you as her inspiration. Anyway, hope your fund raising goes out well!
