Kinsey and I came up with a super sweet idea for restyling a vintage cardigan! You can make it into a cute jumper. This piece is great for winter layering with ruffle blouses, tights, boots and scarves! Enjoy…

Step 1. We took a cardigan and cut it off right under the sleeves. This project is great for unflattering cardigans or sweaters with a boxy fit. Tip- If you want your jumper to be longer, choose a larger cardigan to start with and then take it in (on step 3).

Step 3. Next, try your jumper on. If it's too big, turn it inside out and stitch in the sides until it fits perfectly!

Step 4. Next, we cut the straps out of the sleeves 1 1/2 inches. We took a simple cotton fabric and sewed a lining for the back side, then flipped it inside out. To figure out how long your straps need to be, just use a piece of yarn to measure from the front to the back of your skirt. Add on 2 inches. 6a00d8358081ff69e20162fc43468c970d-800wiStep 5. Last, we sewed the straps on by flipping the end underneath and sewing a square to secure it. We repeated the process on the back and crossed the straps to make an X on the back!

Isn't this the cutest jumper? I love the pattern and texture. Thanks, Kinsey, for sharing this cute idea! Rumor has it that Kinsey is starting her very own blog soon… so I'll be sure to share the link when she's ready. xo. elsie
