Rosemary Mint Bath Salt DIY

I am a really big fan of baths these days. As a working mom, any time I can have 15 minutes to just float in some warm water by myself without an interruption, well, it’s pretty great. I usually add some bath salts into the equation (the magnesium sulfate in epsom salt is great to help with sore muscles and soften and exfoliate skin), and it’s really easy to add some essential oils as well to take your bath to the next level. Try a combination of Rosemary (which helps to relax and focus the mind) and Bergamot (known for calming and balancing) for your next relaxing soak!Rosemary Mint Bath Salts, makes 18 ounces

2 cups epsom salt
1/4 cup baking soda
20 drops rosemary essential oil
5-10 drops of bergamot essential oil
2 tablespoons of carrier oil (olive oil, almond oil, or coconut oil would be good)

Add your epsom salt and baking soda into a large bowl and stir to combine (the baking soda can help to soothe irritated skin).  Drop your essential oils into a tablespoon measuring spoon. I used less mint so it would be a secondary scent to the rosemary, but you can tweak the ratio to less rosemary and more mint if you like. Pour your carrier oil on top of the essential oils in the tablespoon and add your oil to the salt mix. Mix well to disperse oils.Pour your salt mixture into a glass or porcelain container (these metal funnels are handy for DIY beauty products) and your bath salts are ready to use or gift!Tie a few springs of rosemary to the bottle with colored twine for a gifting idea, but definitely make a double batch since you’re gonna want your own stash too. To use, simply pour 1 cup of the bath salts into a warm bath and stir with your hand to disperse the salt through the water. Soak in tub for 15 minutes and relaaaaaaax. Whether you like to read in the tub, listen to music, or just lay there and enjoy the silence, this soothing salt recipe is sure to please! xo. Laura
