Hi there! It’s Laura here, and I’m back to share my scrapbook layouts using the April Messy Box. Isn’t this month’s kit the cutest? I love the spring and picnic theme in this messy box. The weather in Phoenix has been perfect for spending time outside. I’ve been working on my garden (still) and taking my little dog, Astro, for walks. Astro and I have also gotten back into our routine of reading together on the porch in the evenings. The sun has been setting later, so we have lots of time to sit and read.
The Monroe Photo Sleeve is one of my favorites to work with. The 3×3 squares are so fun to work with and create really great layouts. All the Messy Boxes come with several 3×3 journaling cards, so I start by picking out my favorite cards and photos. This month’s kit came with 3 different sets of stickers and heart-shaped brads for embellishing layouts. I love how happy Astro looks in the picture from our walk, so I wanted to add the hearts to that photo. I just punched the brad through the photo paper. The set of little picnic stickers is so cute. The shape of them reminds me of icons for apps on my phone, so I decided to make a little grid like they’re apps of my favorite picnic items.
Since reading on the front porch is one of my favorite things to do, I wanted to make a layout dedicated to that. The chair journaling card was so perfect for this page! I started with the 4×6 chair card and added more of my favorite cards from the kit. The teal sticker set matched perfectly, so I added an arrow and a heart sticker to my page. I used an old typewriter to add journaling to a lined 3×4 card.
I love spring because the weather is so nice and everything is in bloom! The April Messy Box is so great for this time of year. What springtime activities will you be documenting? xo. Laura

It looks so great and easy to use! I have abandoned my journaling project – not enough time to do it, even “messily” rather than properly. I wish I will manage to make time someday.
The Messy Boxes definitely make it easy to scrapbook and journal!

Love the color scheme you’ve chosen! This would be great with all the adorable greetings cards I’ve bought just because they’re aesthetically pleasing! Awesome idea, as always.
I actually am just starting a new scrapbook – of a weekend trip I took LAST spring, but better late than never 🙂 using the gold striped small messy book, it’s going to be real cute
That’s awesome! Happy Scrapbooking!

NICE POST
So cute, when I have time I love to scrapbook. It is such a great way to remember all of the small things that you love in life. Such as reading on the porch later at night.
It’s so fun to look back at all those little memories!

I love how few photos you used. I used to do incredibly photo-heavy layouts, and I’m currently trying to trim down on packing photos into a spread and focus instead on using journaling and filler cards more creatively.
It’s fun to focus on the journaling and challenge yourself creatively!
