Hi friends! Happy Sunday! Today I am excited to share with you the new Messy Box and The Messy Book we have coming out this month. I have been working on these products for more than a year so words cannot describe how happy I am to finally launch them into the world!
Messy Box is our scrapbook kit club that comes with fun papers, cards and embellishments to fit your album each month.
So here's a quick sneak peek at what's to come and what I've been creating with the new products!
The Messy Book! I chose 9×12 albums because I love the size. It's smaller (skinnier) than a traditional scrapbook (and doesn't hang off my bookshelf- yay!!) but it's still large enough to not be a mini book. I have been testing the size by making 9×12 pages for the past year and I absolutely love it and can't wait for you to try it! They're my dream scrapbooks.
Here are the pocket page designs. There is a full size 9×12 page, one with 3×3 squares (perfect for Instagram!), one with 4×6 and 3×4 pockets and one with all 3x4s. I named them after fashion icons, just for fun!
One of the things that makes The Messy Book unique is the colorful inside of each album and the "to be continued" at the back of each book. We are launching soon with three different covers, and there will be more coming out as the year goes on.
Here are examples of what each page design looks like as a finished product (and I made all these pages with the first Messy Box kit too)!
The full page design, Plain Jane, is one of my favorites because I love large, full-page photos! I almost always use this page design as the opening page for every album!
Oh- and here's a peek at some gold chipboard letters that are included in the first Messy Box! It will be available for pre-order this week.
The Westwood page design is the most traditional since it features two 4×6 pockets.
The Monroe design is my personal favorite since I love squares and typically take most of my photos with my iPhone. I love that you can fit twelve photos per page with this design!
And the Bardot design is fun as well since the photos can be a little larger!
I really like mixing all the page designs together and plan to use all four, but I think Emma will pick one or two designs to stick with for her all-photo album. I love that it is so customizable! We're planning to share different ways that we and ABM readers use The Messy Books here in the future!
One more sneaky peek! The first Messy Box has this pretty transparency sheet. I used it for the opening page of my Costa Rica album.

Beautiful, as usual – I love this glimpse of your new product and your sample pages are, of course, stunning.
I’m so glad you are designing for the pocket page concept as it has become the way I now record my memories almost exclusively. I can get a lot of content into an album in a quick amount of time, and I love that little bit of wiggle room for moving photos around when I feel like I want to expand on a certain story, plus there is still that traditional scrapbook fun of embellishing and adding journaling.

I like this. I’m not really into scrap booking, but I do like this stuff. One big question though. I recently read about WhimseyBox and how the company folded in September without notifying anyone. People kept purchasing subscription boxes up until last month, but no one was receiving them. Turns out that this happens from time to time with subscription box companies. I’m super paranoid about purchasing subscription boxes and had even considered purchasing a subscription box from WhimseyBox, but never got around to it. (Fortunately). So, if for some reason you guys fold (which I doubt would happen) or cancel the boxes, do you plan on notifying the subscribers? You do, right?

What a great idea! I have a question though. I am from Europe and normally use 9*13cm or 10*15cm photos for my albums. Do you think these sizes fit in in one of the pagetypes?

Wow, how cool to have your own product to launch – I’d love to do that but wouldn’t know where to start, though I’m hoping to make my little mark on Etsy with my crafts. I’ve only tried scrapbooking once – shame on me! but the kit looks great, good that you can mix it up with different size photo’s as well. Sometimes a lot of space is a bit – what do I do with this!

How do you get your photos so small? I want to print some off my instagram for my facebook. I want to purchase your kit as well once I know how to get the pictures that small. I’d appreciate a response 🙂

GULP… I just had to put this out into the universe. I just ordered all 3 messy books! Now I have a Messy Box subscription, all the ink pads, stamp sets, alpha stickers, ledger papers, etc etc. I’m putting it out into the Universe because it is FINALLY and ABSOLUTELY time for me to print our my kajillion digital photos and MAKE SOME BOOKS! Photos are so easy to take these days, that this is a scary/time consuming thought… but I am invested and I will DO IT! Thanks for giving me the push with your SUPER CUTE collection!
