September was a GOOD month. We had so much fun sharing everything from home projects to favorite drink recipes… and a few personal adventures in between! Here's a few of our favorite posts from September:
Elsie marked the one year anniversary of living in her home by sharing the progress and projects we've created there so far. We shared so many favorite drink recipes this month. In the cocktail department there was: ginger cranberry martini, pumpkin cheesecake martini, cinnamon mai tai, lavender citrus martini, apple ginger cocktail, and our frozen bloody mary. A few of our favorite non-alcoholic drinks included this grilled peach smoothie, lavender iced coffee and our homemade pumpkin spice latte syrup. Which I guess is more of a drink condiment/ingredient than a drink…. but you get the picture. :) Emma shared lots of her home on the blog this month. She showed her fireplace updates. She also shared room tours of her living room, kitchen and bedroom.Speaking of home tours, we got peek inside so many beautiful spaces this month via our At Home feature. We got to see glimpses of homes from: Laura Armenta, Andrea McArdle, Bethany Herwegh, Kelley Howley, Stacie Bloomfield, and Susan Hutchinson. Thank you for sharing your spaces with us!Lots of yummy food showed up on the blog in September. A few of our favorite recipes include: Homer Simpson donuts, pumpkin cheese cake, whiskey applesauce, our favorite chocolate cake, mushroom + farro soup, triple berry muffins, Newcastle fondue, three beet salad, whiskey cinnamon rolls, egg bagels and breakfast tacos. Elsie shared a little bit about the Sunshine Edition for Project Life (more on that coming soon!). We shared lots of home projects + DIYs. Some favorites include: white chalkboard walls, a bandana back shirt, ten ideas for using square photos, Elsie's piano makeover, nesting baskets, color pop cutting boards, dry erase wall, guest room cart, and fabric covered built-ins. We shared a little about the current state of our small business and what's changed this year.We felt extra lucky this month as we got to visit Palm Springs to work with Canon. And we got a (little) nerdy this month and shared a blue "meth" cocktail in honor of Breaking Bad, and our David Bowie inspired skull decor.
Are you getting excited for October? We are!!! xo. Emma + Elsie

Love when you guys do these “recep” posts! Can’t believe Sept. is almost over!
I am getting SO excited for October! I don’t know what’s in the air this year, but fall is definitely making me super giddy.
Thank you for sharing your projects! I think one of my favorites has to be the guest room cart. That was such a clever idea! When I get my house in the future, I’m definitely making one of my own. A little candy bar and some fresh towels can do wonders for comfort levels!
Thanks for continuing to produce fantastic ideas and DIY projects. You two are incredible!

I LOVE that cactus photo. Such great texture & light.
Those white stairs are beautiful but I’m sure it wouldn’t work in my house but whats the painting at the bottom of the stairs? I love it.

You guys are such an inspiration to us little blogs, thank you. I hope to be able to someday make mine into a full time job not just for me but others as well! Geez. Also, quick question, is there anyway to apply to be a guest blogger?
Cheers,
Casey

#1 – I am sooo excited to see what you all have in store with Project Life!! I have wanted to make a scrapbook since I signed up for your e-course a year and a half ago, but unfortunately have not kept up with it because of moving (twice), not to mention the amount of STUFF I started collecting to maintain such a scrapbook. I then went to printing my photos and sticking them in a traditional album, but with all the cell phone pics I had used up a whole album by March of this year!! Project Life looks like the perfect solution for me – it will help me keep track of life on a weekly basis, but also have the same aesthetic as a scrapbook. I’m looking forward to starting in 2014, and can’t wait to see all the tips and tutorials you post between now and then. You girls are crazy creative and I know you’ll inspire me in every way possible with your books.
#2 – I just downloaded your app this past week and I am OBSESSED!!! One of the most straightforward and creative apps around!!! THANK YOU for all the hard work you put into creating it!!!
Can’t wait to see what you have in store for October!! xo

Great post! http://www.lavenue.com/
I absolutely love reading your blog, and my style aligns very well with your DIY/modern/vintage vibe. I recently got engaged, and I am now working on my wedding registry. This comment is more of a post-request! Are there any must-have items on your wedding registries, or something that you wished you would have registered for? I would love to see a post with your recommendations. Thanks for sharing!
Happy for you and it’s a good reminder for me that there will be bad months and good ones. It wasn’t so good for us as my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly. He was very close to our family. But life goes on and I’m looking forward to more good months with my kids!
So many good recipes I need to go back and pin! I am also in love with the color-speckled kitchen wallpaper above the Homer Simpson donuts!
Oh my WORD. Those DONUTS. Amen to that! ๐
So many great recipes and projects! Bring on October!

Even though your style is different from mine, it is simple, refreshing and would be great if I were younger in age! I really enjoy your recipes and if you’d like a copy I have a really old soft sugar cookie recipe that belonged to my grandfather if you’d like a copy.
Everything looks like in a perfect dream. This blog is such an inspiration for me and I love watching every single post and photo. Also, love yre videos on youtube just the same ๐ Thank you for your creativity !
was suffering from a case of the rainy days blues until I read your blog…you inspire me! gonna do something creative today…not that doing laundry can’t be creative..haha…
I really need to try to make the donuts.!
And I’m looking so forward to October since this is going to be the month of Halloween and fall break and lots of fun activities, oh I love fall haha
Xoxo, Elisa
I love your stairs!! What paint did you use?
