Lately, the two of us have been having more coffee meetings than usual. In fact, as I am typing this post I am about to go meet Emma for one! Why all the meetings? It's almost the new year. We like meetings, we love goals and this coming year is already looking to get pretty crazy. We're excited!
I thought it would be fun to share a little about our plans for A Beautiful Mess with you. We've been going through our current sections and features and getting organized. We will be continuing a lot of your favorite features (our favorites too!) like Sister Style, DIY projects and recipes. We have plans to expand the home section in major ways. We're also planning brand new features (TBA in the next few weeks!). We're excited to incorporate more videos here on the blog and we are looking forward to the challenge of growing as photographers!
2013 will also be a pretty special year for us because our first co-authored book will be released this coming summer. We also have a few new product collaborations in the works that we will be able to share with you later this spring and summer. Also there are wedding plans in the works for 2013. Yep- all exciting things! We can't wait! Elsie's Wearing: Comfy Sweater c/o Libby Story, Jeans/Jessica Simpson, Boots/FRYE. Emma's Wearing: dress c/o Spotted Moth, cardigan and tights/Target, hat/Walmart?, shoes c/o Asian iCandy
What are your New Years Eve plans? xoxo. Elsie + Emma
P.S. If any of you blogged your 4 Simple Goals please leave us a link! We are planning to share a few this week. 🙂

I can’t say I’ve achieved them all (knitting is HARD) but here’s mine…

You two are seriously the cutest things ever! I just adore your site and really love sharing your stuff with my teenage daughter! We both love it! Excited to see what you two lovely
(and oh-so-creative) girls have up your pretty little sleeves for the New Year.
Love Elsie’s outfit ‘today’ – very Jill Monroe 😉
New Year’s day will be spent gathering at my folks place for a relaxed family meal, the night before being a quiet one at home as is our usual these days with kiddos in tow 😉
And then I am looking forward to hibernating myself away offline for the duration of January as I take time to plan what is to come this 2013. I have a few ideas but am excited to see what this solitary time will further reveal…

I love that last photograph and I cannot wait to see what you lovely ladies are up to for 2013…you’re both such an inspiration.
I participated in the 4 simple goals challenge and I was surprised at how successful I was at achieving my goals…so, thanks!

love these! oh, and coffee dates are the best 🙂
…yay! all exciting things!! 🙂 I hope you guys use reusable cups though for all those coffee dates…right? Maybe you can fashion some out of mason jars? (I was going to try this…since I heard you can now buy plastic sippy lids for them). Anyhoo, I’m so excited to see what you guys have in store…I just die a little inside everytime I see a paper cup, since they can’t be recycled…lol.
You two provide me with so much inspiration. My goal for the New Year; start my blog (which is long overdue), start by etsy shop, pick up my photography again, (I am taking your 365 project challenge) & mostly importantly enjoy every day as it’s my last.
Thanks ladies, I learn something new each time I visit your site 🙂

I recognize that! I stopped into the Coffee Ethic during a pit stop in Springfield while road tripping this summer. It was excellent! For a Pacific Northwest girl, the coffee culture of the Midwest was a bit of a challenge. Springfield was a lovely city. Thanks for sharing!

yay! i love your blog, you guys inspire me so much. my main goal is to not buy anything “new” (excepting of course food, gas, etc). i’m a little nervous, but excited for the challenge… and possibly learning to sew my own undergarments! i got a serger for xmas so i’m set (thanks mom!!)
I’m excited for your new goals and projects coming up in 2013. I have to ask though, what are your plans for Red Velvet Vintage? I live in Branson and make a trip there every few months (after discovering it and your blog earlier this year). It is literally the only place I have bought clothes this year that make me feel good and actually fit. I do hope you will keep it open and continue to stock it with lovely frocks. Fingers crossed for it remaining my #1 place to shop!
Victoria,
We are planning to sell our local vintage store. We have had such a wonderful adventure there, but we simply don’t have the time to do all we do anymore. Something had to give. The good news is that we are selling it fully stocked so there is a good chance that the new owner will keep a very similar store open in the same spot!
Thanks for your comments and we’re honored that you enjoy our store!!
Elsie
I made a goals list! It’s here: http://fashionisevolution.blogspot.com/2012/12/four-simple-goals-for-2013.html
