Do you guys have nostalgic foods? We sure do. Peanut butter coffee drinks remind us of the olden days because it's something we would have ordered in high school. There's a certain pizza place that reminds us of when we used to photograph weddings together (forever ago!). There's a pizza place in our grandparent's town that is literally a slice of our childhood (I guess we really like pizza, huh?). And pretzels at the mall remind us of our mom. What about you? What are your favorite memory foods?
Oh yea, and the outfits…Elsie's Wearing: Dress/Thief & Bandit, Top c/o ModCloth, Bag/Gift Shop Brooklyn, Shoes c/o Seychelles. Emma's Wearing: dress/ASOS, knit blouse c/o ChicWish, belt/Target, shoes c/o ShoeMint
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo. Elsie + Emma

I love peanut butter. I’ve never had it with coffee though. Sounds like a deadly combo. Bubble Gum ice cream was a childhood favourite for me.
I’m loving Emma’s hair too! Looking lovely as always ladies 🙂

You both look very cute! I have food like that too, but mostly scents remind me of things from way back. 🙂
Peanut butter coffee sounds awesome! Can you post up a tutorial on how to make this wonderful-sounding drink? Thanks! http://pinkgerberdaisies-kady.blogspot.com/
I’ve never tried peanut butter coffee but it sounds really good. I love both of your senses of style but I must say I particularly adore Elsie’s dress today!
I love your blog. Such a fun one to read, and the photos are always excellent.
I was wondering…how long does a post like this take you to put together, between all of the different parts?
Thanks!
Sister style is sooo working for you!
Nom, peanut butter coffee… double nom!
Take Care!

nice photos 🙂
Oh boy chai tea is the way to go for me. However, Bailey’s and ice cream also do the trick.
Peanut butter coffee totally reminds me of one of my friends who adores peanut butter so much. Like so much that she’s OK with getting a jar of PB for her B-day!
Elsie, I love your dress. It’s adorable!

You guys look awesome! Though I’m only eighteen (nineteen in a month!) whenever I have Philly Cheese Steaks it reminds me of high school and maple syrup reminds me of childhood summers in Vermont to see my grandpa who made the best syrup ever. Scents however definitely make me the most nostalgic.
yum yum !

Taco Bell bean and cheese burritos remind me of my grandpa; he would take me there after school sometimes in elementary 🙂
Love both of your shoes! So fun!

I’m totally nostalgic about food! Hot chocolate = adventures in the forestland as a kid. Waffles = sunny days together with my grandmother. Macaroni and meatballs = hanging out with daddy at his work. I could go on forever!
And you two are gorgeous. When I’m here I always wish I had a sister too…
I don’t like coffee but love peanut butter, would like to try one of these!

Peanut Butter coffee sounds so good to me right now. That’s something I would have ordered in high school, too, when all the speciality coffees were first getting popular. Love this Sister Style. Emma’s top is gorgeous.
Peanut butter coffee is like a dream come true. I will try to make to tomorrow 🙂
Ooh, peanut butter coffee. I have to try it now.
I love Emma’s blouse! And Elsie’s dress is really cute and totally suits you. This might sound funny, but I knit and crochet, and Emma’s blouse doesn’t look like it’s either. I believe it’s machine made lace (possibly chemical lace) intended to look like crochet. Not that anyone else probably cares, it’s just something that’s always bugged me when I’m reading catalogs or shopping online. 🙂
Yum! Never tried peanut butter coffee before. Cute outfits!
-Josie
I love the outfits! 🙂
Lasagna reminds me of my mom, but now I make my own vegetarian version.
the crochet top is gorgeous!!

I love modcloth and just did a review for a company with a similar style.
Yummy!… peanut butter..delicious!!

I have to say that my nostalgic food (better say, snack) is typical from where I was born and spent my childhood. It is pão de queijo which is a kind of cheese bread like thing. I had to give it up when I became Vegan but fortunately, I had finally found a vegan recipe and now I can enjoy it again! 🙂
Love your outfits!
Ah! I so wanted to see a recipe! PB coffee sounds amazing!

Peanut butter coffee? Hmm, I’m not much of a coffee girl, but a good dose of peanut butter might make me change my mind!
Love both of your styles! 🙂
I’m quite a big fan of anything with peanut butter, so I’m pretty excited to try this out! And I’m obsessed with Emma’s top, I’ll probably write a post around that shirt alone.

Mmm peanut butter and coffee sounds so good! I wonder why I never tried it before!
Prabal Gurung for Target Giveaway!
When it comes to applying memories to food and flavour, oddly enough, flavoured coffedrinks really fit the description. Never peanutbutter though, that’s a new combo! Cinnamon, coconut & vanilla flavoured latte with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top was was I lived on during high school and naturally, the only place that made those right would be a big part of that memory. If I had that today I would probably die for overindulging in sugar… Nowadays if I feel a sweet craving, hazelnut syrup does the trick.
Einstein’s bagels are very nostalgic for me! I used to go there when I was in elementary school, and then in middle school. I don’t have one near me now but when I travel and get einstein’s……. :’)
I’ve never actually had a peanut butter coffee! I’ll have to try one
Really great cappuccinos remind me of when I studied in Italy. And hot Krispy Kreme donuts remind me of high school/college late-night donut runs. I love the way food and scents can take you back to another time in your life!
Yum peanut butter coffee! I have never heard of it but it sounds delish!! Great pics too, you ladies always look gorgeous 🙂 x

Any dutch dish reminds me of home. (dutch style) pancakes with apple too!
Penne with pesto sauce remind me of when I lived in London, it was all I ate.. lol
“broodje frikandel” comparable to a hot dog reminds me of high school and meatballs of my dad, he makes the best ones with cheese in them!!

Oh. My. Word. Peanut butter + coffee sounds like heaven! I would LOVE to know the recipe!
I love you two, discovered you about 4 weeks ago and I’m addicted to your blog! My fave childhood treat? Growing up in Germany there was a raspberry-champagne (!!) popsicle that was only on the market for one summer before they took it off. I was about 13 years old I think and I had one every day 🙂 Haha only in Europe!
i LOVE your dress, and mmm, coffee.. my favorite memory food is concession stand hamburgers. they remind me of high school color guard, football games, half time.. 🙂
Food memories are some of the best. 🙂
Whenever I see/smell chili (like the canned kind) I think of going to the concession stand at our high school football games. It’s like being transported.
And when I see/cook roast I think of Sunday lunches made by my mom.
This was such a fun post to read. And I’ve never heard of PB coffee drinks, but now I’m curious to try one.
Very pretty ladies!! I really love the out and about sister style features so great. They are my favorite.

Hmmm, I can’t say that peanut butter in my coffee sounds good. But as a child I remember eating giant slices of watermelon in the backyard with the juice dripping down our arms and then running around under the sprinkler to wash it off.
I love your sister style posts, I wish my sisters live closer so we could do it too.
This first picture is awesome!
My memory foods are sweet semolina that my Mom prepared for us when we were kids when we couldn’t afford a normal meal and we litterely loved it. I think I’ll prepare some for my children when I’m a mom. Also from time to time, my mom would let us have chips while watching a movie at night and she’d put a huge bowl for us to eat.
Purée mouseline and crèpes au Nutella are also memory food from my childhood. 🙂
love both your outfits!
I love anything with peanut butter in and this sounds amaze!!
Love your outfits girls! I have to say both you girls are my style crushes, as you always look amazing 🙂

Peanut butter coffee? No way! I’m addict to peanut butter so I really need to try this ! I’m not sure if I can find it in my town…
Making crepes always reminds me of my grandmother, although going out for crepes doesn’t do the same thing. Which was an interesting discovery, because it’s not something I ever did with her. She used to bring Hungarian pancakes over though, so it’s close.
Really good ice cream takes me back to walking along the beach downtown in highschool with an old friend.
Peanut butter coffee looks awesome!
I’ve never heard of peanut butter coffee either!
You both look lovely :)I love Emma’s knit top. And peanut butter coffee sounds divine x
You girls are gorgeous! Mint chocolate chip ice cream always reminds me of being a little girl in my hometown and going to Friendly’s… not sure if you have Friendly’s restaurants where you are!

yuuuuuum. i want to try that!
pretzels at the mall make me think of my mom, too 🙂
Love the Blog the two of you have created!
I must know how to make the peanut butter coffee….it sounds amazing!
A food that takes me back for a childhood memory is a Grilled Peanut Butter & Marshmallow sandwich. It is cooked
like you would a grilled cheese. Use the small marshmallows and to cover one side with them stuck into your peanut butter….the of course more peanut butter on the other side close it up and butter the outside pieces of bread & grill! Yummmmmm!!!!!
Very tasty:P , love the first pic…you are both so beautiful!
My nostalgic food is peanut butter toast. I still eat it pretty much every single morning. However, it still tastes better when mum makes it.;)
Great post. xo dina
Cute dress. But yes, I too have a nostalgic food which is sort of similar. It wasn’t peanut-butter coffee, but rather a peanut-butter shake. It reminds me of the days my father was in town because he’d always take my brother and I to the nearest joint and grab ourselves a good ol’ peanut-butter shake. Funny how food is also connected to memories eh?
That coffee looks amazing !!
http://www.pocket-hopper.blogspot.com
Sounds delicious! I’ve never had it before, but I feel I must try 🙂
I can really relate! Now that I’m living in a completely different country, there are so many foods that I can’t get here that totally remind me of childhood and I know that when I start dreaming about them, it’s time to get on the plane and pay home a visit. This includes, sliced of pizza, black and white cookies, and anything my mom makes. Btw, peanut butter coffee sounds absolutely awesome!
Peanut butter coffee!!! YUM!!! =)

That’s so funny you mentioned peanut butter. My mom hates peanut butter, so we never had it growing up. Now I just love it and put it on everything. So for me it’s the opposite. When I eat peanut butter, I’m reminded of NOT having peanut butter growing up. On a side note, peanut butter coffee sounds AMAZING!
Peanut butter coffee??? What?! Sounds delightfully addictive.
Great photos! You ladies look lovely!
Wishing you a wonderful week.

Mmhhhmm, peanut butter coffee, never heard about that.Need to try this,do you know where I can find a recipe?

dear elsie, dear emma,
I have to come out and say how much i love your blog. you’re my daily read, my biggest inspiration and part of the reason why i dare to blog myself. a heartfelt thank you to you two, then ♥
I’m so looking forward to your book(s), too. Will import them the second they are out.(I’m from germany so wish me luck with that! ^^)
Elsie your hair color is mesmerizing! I am so in love with it.
What color is it? So beautiful.
please share peanut butter coffee recipe!! looks amazing! 🙂 thanks
That sounds so delicious! I need to find a place that sells it.
Ah! Pretzels in the mall. Totally remind me of my mom too. Just the smell can take me right back to trying to find Guess jeans skinny enough to fit my scrawny 7th grade legs.
That sounds so yummy! Never tried pb and coffee together before. I love the dress and the knit blouse!
I finish a jar of crunchy peanut butter all by myself in two weeks. It is my favorite thing. I don’t have a particular nostalgic food or restaurant though.
Kindness is the best accessory,

peanut butter coffee drinks? I’ve never heard of them… sounds like something I could get used too! uh oh.
wait wait wait… peanut butter coffee?? recipe please!!
Emma, put peanut butter coffee on your list of recipes to try:) I have some great food memories.
Eating grapefruit with a serrated spoon will always remind me of my mom: http://boun-see.blogspot.com/2012/03/eat-like-kid.html
I can’t remember ever seeing a peanut-butter coffee drink, but now I want to try one. For me, breakfast burritos mean visiting family in Austin, blue slushies mean sunny days during sophomore year, and cinnamon toast is the taste of childhood.
I love peanut butter coffee! I always get it at the Mudhouse. I am curious where you are having peanut butter coffee. <3
Jana- We were at Heroes. It’s on Boonville just north of the Square. 🙂
Pop corn made on the stove reminds me of my sister and family! Especially my mom.. it was the only things she was good at cooking 🙂

stewed apples on bread reminds me of arriving at our grandparents at night after the long drive into the city.
