Last weekend I visited my grandmother's cabin and she gave me a few pieces from her collection. This granny square sweater was handmade by my great grandmother, Lula. I love the colorful style, but the sentimental value is even better! It's a statement piece so I wore it with black skinny jeans and camel heels by Jessica Simpson Collection. I'm can't wait to take a photo with the pink samsonite luggage she let me bring home next! I'm definitely packing that on my honeymoon. Happy Weekend! Elsie

Freak out freak out!! That is awesome, and you totally rock it, girl.
Love the jeans, Elsie…can I ask where they’re from? They look SUPER long with those cuffs, and I have the hardest time finding pants long enough for me! 🙂
Much love,

Lesley, the jeans are jessica simpson from Dillards. they’re regular length, but i am 5’4″ sin they’re long on me! They’re the best fitting jeggings i’ve ever owned. XO.
Wow. That sweater would be so hard to pull-off, and you look fabulous! Those shoes are to-die-for.

That is SUCH A FUN SWEATER!!! I really do thoroughly enjoy finding fantastic vintage grandma sweaters.
I also have some classic sweaters my grandmother & my great aunt have knitted as well; it’s really great feeling when you wear something made with such love & skill.
Plus, that chosen color scheme is sweet!

Love it!!! This would make an equally adorable blanket, which is exactly what I need for our bed 🙂
Looks great, especially with jeggings!!
You look darling! Grandma sweaters are the best! 🙂
Lucky girl. I can remember playing dress-up with my grandma’s dresses. We wore them so hard we put holes in them. We grew up and the dresses disappeared. =( If I remember them correctly, now-a-days those dresses would be in my closet for daily wear.
Bold, & beautiful Miss Elsie.

That sweater is so fuun and bright and on a gloomy day like today it’s definitely needed! Love those shoes, but i think i’ve mentioned that before…your hair looks so pretty too! Have a lovely afternoon!

i wish we got jessica simpson merchandise here in sa. you often feature items on your blog, and everything looks so fab. it’s no wonder she does so well.
Seriously…that sweater is the best, and the fact that it matriarchal and passed down in your family…well that is something really special. You look gorgeous as always! Hearts, janna lynn
Oh, don’t use vintage luggage on plane rides! We took a gorgeous vintage suitcase to London this summer. It was in mint condition before we left, and it was treated so poorly by the airline staff that it now pops open quite often and the lock won’t fasten!
Be careful!
Hi Elsie,
This is sooo sweet, I think such a sweater will be definitely on my to do list for my next projects. And by the way: It looks fantastic on you!
Love, Doris
You look simply adorable! I remember such jackets in the old magazines I used to read when I was a girl. Seriously, wearing it now makes you look bright, authentic, and very personalized! Great job on this one!
xoxo
Too fun! this outfit is the cutest =) And I love the sentiment behind the cardi

Just lovely 🙂 My grandmother has a ton of blankets she knitted to look like that and they’re my favorite.
I have so many old patterns think I will drag them out,the 60’s really weren’t that long ago, when u look at the big picture 🙂
Love it!!!
I am head-over-heals for your sweater. Perfectly styled with a wonderful story. Cheers!

Lol “a few pieces from her collection” AKA old stuff!? You sound pretentious sometimes. And look kind of ridiculous.
Love the story behind the sweater, such a special piece and you wear it so well!
I am envious of your ability to wear tall shoes. I would totally fall over 🙂 My grammy has lots of blankets in that pattern. I should ask to see her old closet, I’m sure she has plenty of finds!
shut the front door! I literally pinned a granny square sweater the day before you posted this. Great minds think alike, eh?
Question: how do you get your face to be so flawless/perfect? Seriously, what make up are you using? Or skincare… or whatever… =)
damn, granny squares never looked so good! you are rockin that sweater elsie! go on with your amazing self!
xo,

Oh my word. Who would have thought? Certainly not me. We have a grandma blanket very similar – with a plethora of ugly colors. And it is huge. 30 sweaters worth. And we have 362 quilts made by my husband’s gma. Please come over.
Thanks.
This reminds me so much of a blanket my great grandmother made!
Also, you’re really making me want to dye my hair that colour.
that granny square sweater is out of your world! i love it!!
That granny square sweater is really beautiful!! And it looks super comfortable. I wanna make one to pass it down to my grandchildren! 🙂
Oh dear goodness the granny square cardigan!! That is amazing! Love your shoes too, fabulous 🙂

speaking of samsonite luggage. I got a neat old set from my husbands grandmother but it is a dull brown. I wanted to spruce it up. Did you change the color of yours and if not do you have any suggestions on how to jazz one up?
cute sweater!
I adore granny squares! This cardigan is amazing! And how wonderful that it has a family story behind it…
These are all very beautiful, I like very much
I CROCHET. COULD YOU MAKE THIS ONE OF YOUR PROJECTS AND POST THE DIRECTIONS? 😉
ILOVEITT <3 <3
This is brilliant! I tried searching for similar on Etsy and eBay but there just isn’t any! I might try making myself a similar one.. I just LOVE it! 🙂

Hey YOU!Well we have 3 out of 5 birthdays saenhicwdd in between Thanksgiving and the first week of January!! It’s really just funny! Fried pickles are such a southern thing and at first I thought, NO WAY that’s just gross Well, I’ve been converted! They really are good and addicting .it took quite something for me to get out the dreaded FRYER! That’s love! Those dishes THEY were a find one day my girl and I were in Ross .they were just scattered about the dishes section .they were 2.00 a piece!! Now they only had 4 and I couldn’t find any more so I had to spend 12.00 to get plain red ones to scatter in between but they had bowls, small dishes and mugs SERIOUSLY how cool is that???How are you guys doing up there??? FREEZING yet?? Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! ((hugs))
Promoting CPA provides for me has been ceantirly one of my highest methods to make cash on-line. I feel this works nice for me because I discover it simpler to persuade anyone to take a free trial or publish their identify and e-mail, relatively than actually seeking to get them to purchase a product. While the payout per conversion may very well be decrease with free offers, conversion rates are often a lot better so this offsets the difference. Whereas pay per sale offers from Clickbank might be a temptation for brand spanking new marketers, I would strongly counsel starting with promoting free offers, and after gaining web and affiliate marketing experience, then movement to paid offers.
