I’m a gal who tends to gravitate towards kitschy styles and decor. I adore whimsy and quirkiness, so you’d better believe I love this faux fur pom trend I’ve been seeing everywhere! Let’s see… an adorable addition to purses, hair accessories, keychains, and even shoes?? Yes, please! I hope they are here to stay for a bit because I think they add the most darling bit of texture and fun to anything!
Supplies:
-basic sandals (these are cute)
-pom keychains or hair accessories (check your local craft store)
-needle and thread
-needle nose pliers
To begin, remove the poms from your keychain or hair accessory. I like to use poms that have a loop to attach so you don’t have to sew through the pom.
Tie around your first pom and secure to the sandal with a knot. Wrap the thread around several times and add your next pom. Continue until all poms are secure and tie off with a knot. Repeat the same steps on the second shoe. Easy peasy!
If you are looking for something a little more permanent, you could always use craft or hot glue to secure these. I’m pretty partial to the ability to easily remove the poms. That way, if I feel like I want to go back to the more basic style, I totally can!
I love the 60’s vibes these poms add to these basic sandals. Let’s all get dressed up in our favorite vintage pieces and go grab some cocktails. Are you in? xo. Katie

Oh, I’ve seen stores selling sandals like these lately. Would work great for someone who could carry off that style!

How cute! I have a spring wedding coming up and was looking for a way to add a pop to an otherwise boring outfit. I’m excited to try out some other color combos! Perhaps a light teal and coral? TBD!
Do you have cats…. my feet would be shredded!! LOL
Reminds me of boudoir slippers from the 60’s.
Wow they are too cute and it seems pretty doable! Will try it out for sure <3

How cute those shoes are, and so easy to craft!

These shoes may (or may not) be cute. Nevertheless I am wondering why – esp. in the the midst of fashion revolution week – this post features an affiliate link to some rather cheap shoes (20 USD) from some unknown origin. Shoes from sources like this tend to be a result of unfair working conditions and have environmentally unfortune consequences. As some members of ABM stated in earlier posts: conscious shopping of ethically produced goods is a good way to go. Or second hand pieces. Red velvet vintage, right?
All the best! Eva
Such a cute way to make a pair of shoes more your own. I like that it’s a temporary add too. Need a little more quirk in my own life!

Love the Pom Pom sandals. There are some sandals of mine that I want to add Pom pins too. The jewels fell off so I want to make them look better. I am inspired!
I LOVE This idea and how you made the poms removable! Last week, I did a bright tassel shoe makeover and was so happy to see more shoe makeovers on your blog. I think there is something about spring… it makes me want brighter, bolder shoes. haha!
