I wanted to share another photo I took of Stacy for her new project, Sucré. The last set of photos I shared were from last summer. This one is from this month. We spent a couple days taking photos in outfit after outfit and channeling all kinds of crazy inspiration. I've been having so much fun playing the role of stylist for her! It really gives collecting dresses a whole new meaning because there are so many amazing vintage dresses that aren't really approriate for a lot of occasions, except music videos and photo shoots!
I've always dreamed of working in music, but not so much on the music… on the fashion side. In fact, after highschool my sister and I wanted to create a band. We even found all the players for our band and someone to write all our songs (my dad… i love you, dad). We soon realized that the most exciting part about starting a band, to us, was picking out outfits and taking photos. Wow… that's embarrassing to even admit, but it's so so true. Through the years I've idolized singers like Bjork, Nina Persson and Jenny Lewis. They are true style icons. It's really creatively satisfying to find a home for all my photos ideas with Stacy's music. Do I sound gushy? I'm ok with that.
Here's a couple snaps of us celebrating at Aviary after a week of shooting photos and filming a music video. My heart is bursting with joy for Stacy, Darren and Jeremy. I think that savoring the success of the ones you love is one of the most beautiful human emotions. Now, I just can't wait for you to hear the music! xo. elsie

Hi!
Very nice pictures 🙂
Just wanted to say…
Sucre means Sugar (no accent)
Sucré is the adjectiv
i am SO excited about this project, and I am IN LOVE with the photos you took! Such an exciting thing when so many people I admire get to work on a project together! I’m gushing right along with you!:)
Awe 🙂 congrats!!! I love Jenny Lewis too.
Eeee! I’ve loved Stacy for years! I got the chance to meet her in Chicago a few years ago and Darren took our photo in an alleyway, haha. She was sweet and I was awkward. But I’m glad I was able to chat with her for that short while! I haven’t been excited about a new album in so long… I seriously can’t wait for this release. I will play it non-stop, I’m sure. 🙂
When I found out the two of you knew each other, I was all “whoaa no way!” since I’ve loved you for years, too, Elsie! 😉 Seeing the two of you work together is magical!
xoxoxo,
Amanda
Eeeeep! SO excited for this album! And I know that the video will be fab – can’t wait!

I’m gushing right there with you, Elsie! The photos you took are amazing, as is the styling. I can’t wait to hear Stacy’s solo stuff. I’m a HUGE fan of Eisley so it’ll be interesting to hear what Stacy’s music sounds like when it’s been created solely by her. Thanks so much for sharing what you’ve been able to on this new venture of hers!
I can’t wait to hear Stacy’s album!!! You’re so lucky!
Someone already half beat me to the punch…with the accent, the best translation of sucré is “sweet”.
I wanted to be in a band, too…only I had no musical talent whatsoever! Were you going to sing your dads’ songs or play an instrument (or both)?
Just lovely! I adore Eisley so I’m sure this will be a real treat 🙂

Thanks for the info about the word Sucré, I updated the title. 🙂
And thanks so much for all the kind words.
Beautiful photo.

I LOVE that top photo. Her hair, makeup, the background, everything! I just had to pin it. 🙂
I completely agree! Rejoice with those who rejoice!
You seem so creative, I bet you would be great at designing wardrobes for famous musicians. this is my first visit here and I’ve only been here a few minutes and I’m pretty sure I’m convinced you’re creative enough to do anything you set you mind to. ~ Barefoot mama
Stacy looks so stunning!
there was totally an episode on full house when stephanie was in a battle of the bands and they were too worried about their image to practice. uncle jesse tried to tell them they needed to practice, but it ended in disaster and then a heartfelt lesson at the end, obviously. the story about your attempt at a band just matched so perfectly. 😉 video evidence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Qh9K48lCMQ
Beautiful picture of Stacy. I’m sure it’s easier to take gorgeous pictures when you have such a gorgeous person to work with (both inside and out). Love Jenny Lewis’ style too, btw!!

This project looks great, and it sounds so much fun!
I agree! I think the best part of bands is what they wear, ha ha. I can imagine that would be the most fun for me as well. :] All of these photos of gorgeous – but, of course, they always are!

I’ll have to check it out!
Such a gorgeous picture… I can’t wait to hear her music! Over the past six years, I’ve done freelance work as a stylist for musicians and bands, and it’s one of my absolute favorite things to do. (It’s also part of the reason I met my husband, who is the stage manager for one of the bands I style!). Looking forward to the video and more pics!
xo,
melissa
Nice pics! Good luck to you all!!

Eep! I can hardly wait for the album to come out! I absolutely love her and her sister’s voices – them make me wanna pick up my guitar and make some music! I think “Sucré” is the perfect name for such a pretty voice.
Whaha that reminds me of a ‘band’ I started with my best friend in high school. It never really got much bigger than the two of us.. and we only attempted some mediocre songs.. But we did have fun designing a logo, making t-shirts and everything! Ha! Guess you are not the only one 😉 (I just realize those were signs.. I am working on starting a tshirt company now with some friends.. years after 😉 )

I totally agree!I must admit my favourite part of having my own brand is the styling part, it’s so creative and lovely to see your work displayed within your photoshoots!Lovely images!

Sounds exciting!
Looks great!
She is so beautiful!
I love hearing about “Mr. Larson’s” career! He’s worked with a couple of our favorite bands but Mute Math is a special obsession my husband and I love sharing! (Actually, they were the last show I’ve been to since we started having kids! Yikes!)
I love it that my favorite blog and my favorite artists have such a connection! And I cannot wait to try Sucré!
This is incredibly exciting! How wonderful to be part of it 🙂

What a fun project! I love how you wanted to start a band and all the reasons behind it! It’s so you and not embarrassing at all 🙂
I’m sure it’s going to turn out beautifully! Can’t wait to see everything. And as for your confession, everytime I dream about something new, I first imagine what I will be wearing (talk about embarrassing)
I absolutely love your blog! So inspirational and lovely!Stunning photos!I’m your big follower!;)
Sounds like you are having an amazing experience! I was in bands in highschool and I looooved getting dressed up to play shows. Sometimes we even wore matchy outfits! haha!
I can’t wait to hear Stacy’s new music, her voice is basically my dream voice!
Stacey has really turned out to be such a beautiful lady! I remember when I was a teenager and she was just a kid – she was pretty then, but now… wow! 🙂
This is so so exciting! I love the photographs, they’re absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful pics. Can’t wait to hear the music. I agree that styling photo shoots and taking the pics is the BEST!!! I wish that were my full time job!
