Introducing…. The Library Date Dress! This is the second dress in Red Velvet's Autumn 2011 Collection. Rachel chose this dress as her favorite, so I asked her to model three ways to wear it!
The Library Date Dress is our beloved chambray piece. It has short sleeves and is very comfy. Of all the dresses, this piece really reminds me of Autumn.
In Look 1, Rachel styled the dress with platform shoes, a skinny belt and colored tights. We never thought that colored tights would be one of our wardrobe staples, but they are! We love that they can add pops of color to a neutral look.
In Look 2, Rachel layered a red wrap skirt (c/o Simone's Rose) over her dress. This is a styling tip that I've been using more and more. Layering dresses is great because they can double as a top with a cute skirt!
For Rachel's third look, she kept it casual with a pair of boots, some pale pink tights and a comfy cardigan! This look has Autumn written all over it. This would be a perfect outfit to wear to the pumpkin patch or the apple orchard.
This is the second of ten new dresses that will be available on our website September 1st. Thank you Rachel for modeling these three looks! (Laurel is also modeling in the product photo) I'll be sharing more fall dresses all week! xo, elsie

Such a beautiful dress! I love look 3!
Love this outfit so much.
I’ve been slowly getting girly with dresses. This would be perfect!
The pumpkin patch, the apple orchard…cardigans and knitted hats and a thermos of tea…This is the first year of my life that I am totally craving autumn! maybe because our summer in the UK hasn’t exactly been spectacular…anyway, I digress. It’s a great dress and I love how Rachel styled it!
I can’t choose a favorite, I do love the 1st & 3rd. But, it’s clear that this autunn I’m going to buy some bright tights, they’re the perfect touch of color.
Hi Elsie,
I love how you’ve been pairing dresses with tights…such a great look. I have trouble pulling it off though, because of the static factor – once I’m moving, my skirt clings to my legs.
Do you gals just grin and bear it, or is there some magical trick you could share?
number 3 is a little dorky and I absolutely definitely LOVE it!! I would totally wear it this way π
so cute! i really like the first look with the pink tights
i would totally wear the 3rd look, i love it!

Love it! The third look it definitely my favorite π (And honestly, how can you NOT love a dress called “The Library Date Dress”??)
I LOVE the simplicity of this dress! I have to say look #3 has my name written all over it-I’m a big fan of pairing clunky big boots with dresses & tights!
I can’t wait to see the other dresses you lovely creatives are making!! <3

Love this dress! It really does look like a back-to-school type of dress. Loving the third look! I layered my dress with a top the other day, so it transformed into a sweet skirt! Awesomeness! <3

These are great! And I NEVER thought I would wear bright colored tights until I started reading your blog! I hoped on over to Target to pick some up and I am so pleasantly surprised how fun they are…like you said, a great pop of color! Cannot wait until fall!
I should put that date in my agenda, because I’d really love to own this dress! It’s the perfect shade of grey and the white part is so lovely. A perfect addition to my fall wardrobe! (hope I won’t miss out on this one)

Love the red skirt look!
Absolutely adorable dress. I love clothing that has that air of vintage to it, and this dress makes me think that.
I wanted to let you know that I nominated you for an award. It may be awkward given that it’s a cosmetic/beauty oriented reward theme, but it’s because I really enjoy your blog/work.
